Matty Blair
« on June 13, 2024, 04:44:29 pm by Cramby10 »
Has anyone read the latest free press interview with Matty Blair? Seems he was another of the long list of players that had been misdiagnosed. It’s breathtaking the incompetence that seems to have come out of that regime.
Thank god we’ve now hopefully cleared the decks and got proper folk in there now.

Who in that regime diagnosed players?

F**k knows but he alludes to someone. And he’s not the only one to say so.

That’s an ‘interesting read’.

Matty Blair always exemplified everything I want to see in a player wearing the red & white hoops.

For me he’s right up there with Rob Jones, Tommy Rowe, John Marquis etc.

He’ll always have a place in the hearts of the Rovers supporters who were privileged to have watched him play.

As to ‘witch hunting’ previously appointed medical staff, is there really any point unless you’re twiddling your thumbs working in some mundane number crunching job pre-season?

Still follows us and at the last home game he was in West stand near us with a Tommy Rowe shirt on, I loved that.

I would imagine the specialists and surgeons do the diagnosis not our physios.

Not much to read really. Fully agree with The Funk on this.

I said regime. Which would cover all aspects.
Not specifically physios. I would assume we no longer use said doctors. Fej and Taylor were 2 others that immediately sprung to mind of others misdiagnosed. I’m sure there were more rumoured at the time.
In all seriousness though, no one can possibly defend those physios then with the abomination that transpired over the course of 3 or so years. The amount of injuries was ridiculous.
McCann saw the light and has quickly changed things around.
Opinions eh. I’ll leave it at that.

That will have halted questioner #3 in his quest to stir up trouble where there isn’t any.

These people really need some sort of hobby during close season.

I’ve also pointed out on a few occasions that insurance cover and access to specialists is extremely expensive in the football world therefore DRFC are part of the football wide scheme that is negotiated en bloc with 91 clubs operating inside the same scheme.

Therefore, depending on the injury or specialist examination and recommendation, the choice of where players are sent is sometimes predetermined, as it is with most private health care providers.

No doubt that’s the clubs fault too.

But what I would add though, as I reported the other day, that part of the investment that TB has provided for the summer months is an investment in another assistant physio and a conditioning coach.

Matty was a good player for us, it is a pity that then we were having poor medical backup for injured players. It has now changed thanks to GM. When players turn up in your crowd as a spectator just how much they supported the club. Good luck to him, I hope he does well in his future.

I hold Matty Blair with the utmost of respect along with Alfie May.

Thanks for the time you had at Donny.
