Albie.

That "Labour are Tories unless they do what I want" schtick is precisely the reason we ended up in this creek of shit in the first place. Quarter of a million like you who insisted there was no difference between Brown/Darling and Cameron/Osborne. So they didn't vote Labour, in an election where Labour winning an extra dozen seats would have set us off in a totally different branch of history.

Do you think a little bit of humility might be in order?

How lovely that starmer plans to clock off on a Friday at 6pm so he can spend some time with family. After all, it’s not too important a job is it? And nothing much happens around the world after 6pm on a Friday does it .
Ffs.
Of all the things to slate the guy for. His wife is Jewish, he likes to observe Shabbat with her when he can. Nothing he said indicates he'll be unreachable in the event of an emergency. Unlike one recent Tory PM in particular.

BST,

Stop making things up.
I have never said that there was no difference between Brown and Cameron, and don't think that at all.

That said, the problem is the neo-liberal political economy.
You either support it, like you do, or you wish for a transformative change, like I do.

There is no point in voting for variations on the same old script if you support a different way of delivering economic improvements to an unequal society.

So the need for humility is with the likes of you, because you do not see the need for structural reform.
An example is FPTP.
You have been on here saying that the electoral system must change, but then back Starmer when he stands full square against it.
Keith reckons FPTP has brought stability......was he asleep during Johnson, Truss and then Sunak?

Let's not forget the same fella went AWOL for the first few COBRA meetings when COVID was just kicking off. For all the stick I give Keith there's no way he'd pull a stunt like that.

It is not about the result on Friday Syd.
We already know Labour will have a majority as the Tories have imploded and given up.

The Guardian article is about what happens when Keith is in power, and the implications for the next GE in 2029.
Please read it before commenting.

Voter expectations are wildly at odds with the offer in the Labour manifesto, as the FT explain;
https://archive.ph/BlYgH

The cuts Starmer and Reeves have signed up to are going to be a shock to those who have not understood the manifesto, and there will be a backlash.

The danger is that the underperformance of Labour in power will create a vacuum for Farage to exploit.
We need to be mindful of the great divide opening up in France as we speak.

Don't need to read it Albie, I get the feeling, with good reason that you actually want Starmer and his government to fail, that you don't give a shit about the people you just want vengeance because your boy lost, twice. You need to get some help.

You still standing by this Albie?

When bst makes things up inevitably some of his followers believe he was telling the truth and back him up.
It’s a bit like the old story of the king and his new clothes.

Would this be the one who missed COBRA meetings to sort out his divorce  to write his book. Then hid in hospital claiming he was on deaths door and took time out to recuperate

But you wouldn't vote for Labour in 2010. And you've used the term "Red Tory" in the past to give your opinion of the last Labour Government.

Simple question. Do you think that a Brown led Government in 2010 would have been better than a Cameron-led one?

Albie

Which countries would you like to see the UK model its economic policies on?
