In 1997, in anticipation of Tony Blair’s Labour Party kicking out the Tories after 18 years in power, I booked the Friday off work.I set up camp in front of the telly and watched the night unfold until dawn broke in more ways than one.It was a wonderful night and I felt elated the following day.I’m retired now, so for the first time in my life I have no need to get up for work on the Friday morning after an election, and no need to book a holiday.I’m sitting here, glass of wine in hand, loving every minute of this.
