Question for exiles
« on July 06, 2024, 09:09:04 am by Canadian Rover »
I am a bit confused as to how the coverage is going to work, this morning I tried to access Ifollow and it wouldn't open, then searched to update the app in Google Play and it's not there.

Does anyone know if the IFollow system is now gone for all overseas season pass holders?

I was under the impression things weren't going to change for overseas fans, maybe I have missed everything?

Anybody else have any information I may have missed?

I have sent an email to IFollow regarding subscriptions.
It was my understanding that for those living abroad the Visual and Audio would continue in 24/25

After reading all the emails and information I have still to see where it tells me exactly how much it is going to cost.

I’m finding it all very confusing. Is iFollow going to be available via the Rovers website as it has previously or will live international streaming have to be accessed via the Clubs new Rovers+ facility?
I can’t find any mention of the cost of season passes for either facility or even if they will available.

There is no mention of cost or availability for anybody. Nice decision from the club, just disenfranchise hundreds of your fans, that will increase revenue won't it?!

The thread is about exiles so not to confuse about the cost and frequency of viewing ( or listening )in U.K.
The last info from I follow was that all matches would be available to view from abroad  but we are awaiting confirmation Another option for U.K. residents is VPN which is not cheap but of you want to watch all Rovers home and Away you need to pay for both VPN and I follow season pass for overseas viewers ,about £300 for the 46 games in all.
I use VPN from Belgium to get certain U.K. only broadcasts and pay € 125 pa .
Good luck ..the famous firestick is  illegal of course in UK which is unfortunate because you can get every game live .

I emailed ifollow and they told me to take it up with Sky. Can't contact Sky as I don't have a Sky UK account.
Really confused.

Hi Brian .
Were waiting for how this looks from the powers that be.

There will definitely be something.

All clubs in same position....I've just checked and SWFC are still selling iFollow

Lincoln nothing as yet

Rest assured when we know, we'll put it out

My concerns relate to me being an exile. I live in Portugal. I watched every game via iFollow last season. With not long to go until the first ball is kicked of the new season, you would have thought that the method of streaming and costs would have been announced by ‘the powers that be’ by now.

Latest email from IFollow
Make of it what you will but it does seem like its  down to our club to offer a re subscription, certainly won’t be through IFollow

….
The club is no longer using the iFollow service. Please contact the club directly to help deal with your query.

From the start of the 2024/25 season, the service provider of iFollow will be changing, which will affect your renewal process.
Your iFollow Season Pass subscription will not auto-renew due to the change of service provider and you will need to re-subscribe for next season when passes for the 2024/25 season go on sale in July 2024.

I live overseas too. I'm with sky for TV but I don't have the sports. I'll probably add it to the package to get these extra games on the new plus app. I need to double check that it will be available in Ireland. Sometimes they lump us in with the UK rules.

Thanks everyone for their contributions. After the initial excitement of being able to watch games again my initial thoughts were that ifollow was a pretty poor product, but it changed, improved and became very good.

Due to the disruption of the kick off time I now only watch a few games and as the replay is unavailable for 24hrs, too long for me to avoid the results.

I will hold judgement but I can't see me signing up for a year to watch less than half a dozen games live.

3 weeks to go until the season starts and yet here we are with no real knowledge of how, if and how much match coverage is going to be for exiles. I am getting very worried about not having the ability to be able to watch the Rovers week in week out. I am sure many exiled fans feel the same right now.

There’s 3 weeks to go. I could understand your concern if it was the night before but there’s plenty of time to go yet.

I share your concerns. The later the new service (whatever that may be) is instigated will quite likely result in teething problems that should have be ironed out pre season. We all remember the early days of iFollow and the ‘hit and miss’ coverage. It would be nice to have one of the later scheduled friendlies streamed for exiles to test the new system out prior to the first league game but I doubt very much that will happen.

Great idea ScillyRover why not test the system with the Darlington game!!!!
