Agree Kasper Williams and SSB both looked comfortable. As above Hurst, Gibson, Maxwell and Broadbent looked good. Miller getting better just needs to catch up on sharpness. Really good day out at both games

Looking at Hurst in the vids we've seen so far, he really looks like he's bulked up a bit. He said in his post match interview he's really worked hard in the summer. So looking forward to seeing him  run at people and score goals. Looks like Gibson is a natural too.

Not too long to wait for my first viewing.

Miller did play on the right.
Interesting listening to him guiding SSB about not going too wide & to come inside for simpler passes.

All good so far but I still think we’re missing that bit of quality in midfield. Also, we’re still waiting to see what the 3 injured lads can add this season. Nothing scored against but I guess that will all change after this week, with the visit of both Hull and Middlesbrough.

Hopefully, Anderson can come back into the fold, but it’s much more important that he’s ready for 10th August. It’s now about finding out about our first 11, if there is such a thing, and how we can react to different challenges. Hopefully, the positivity continues.

I guess everyone would pick a different 11 at the moment, if asked who they’d start the season with.

It might just be me but has Hurst bulked up a bit over the summer?

Hurst definitely seems to have more about him - when he is in full flow he seems to be floating above the grass

I see a Cedric Main is playing for Darlo. I wonder if he is related to our ex star striker. ;)

Some how I very much doubt it, the aforementioned ex Rovers striker scored a hat trick in the Scottish league cup last Saturday

Yes and he needed it. Both his upper and lower body look stronger.

He could get double figures this season.

Enjoyed the double header yesterday, would like to see it done again with two teams of a similar level for friendlies every season going forward. Gets ninety minutes into all the key players

And why would that make a difference? Cedric and Curtis!!! Two different people.

Spennymoor highlights...

https://spennymoortownfc.co.uk/2024/07/21/highlights-moors-0-doncaster-rovers-2/

Thanks Micky. I know it was only a pre-season friendly, and Tom was missing, but the same old defensive problems were there; crosses coming in at will, free headers in the box.

I know it's early doors, but for a 6th tier team, Spennymoor created a lot of easy chances that should have been put away.
