That has to be a first and worth noting. Of course things aren't that simple but this really is a feather in the cap for David Rennie and the medical staff. Also for TB for supporting McCann after he said some time ago, much of his budget was being wasted

Only Ben Close, isn't available for selection, being a bit behind with his fitness. We have an abundance of talent ready to be let off the leash. COYR.

Don't jinx us for a dozen injuries in the testimonial tomorrow, Baz!

McCann saying everyone fit aside from Close, who is "a few weeks away from selection".

Close is fit, just not match ready. Shows how a few decent performances have radically changed the situation. I think it was SOD that said when things are down you have a lot more “injuries”

Great news, the appointment of the new physio/doctor has been a major boost for the club.

I was randomly watching “inside rovers” on YouTube this morning (that Barrow game btw!!)
Building my excitement for Saturday.

And it flicked onto the next video, the last meet the owners.

Back then Grant said the new physio was a real coup for the club and that we wouldn’t see the real benefits from it for 6-8 months.

Boy was he right!

Is it time to reduce the number of medical staff we have if the team is now fit?

To me, this is like reducing the number of wheels on your car because it's running well. According to this article we're actually adding another physio in addition to a sports scientist and a regular yoga teacher coming in. Sounds like the backroom upgrades are really making a difference (also nice to hear Copps getting more involved in the coaching side of things!). https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/james-coppinger-praise-as-doncaster-rovers-behind-the-scenes-upgrades-are-explained-4732350

Coppinger always said he didn’t want to be a coach. He appears to have fallen into that role.

To me it sounded like a tongue in cheek thing, but to some they thought I was serious

At least three weeks before Close is likely to be considered for selection.

And then sell him like we're doing with Miller.

Well here’s hoping!
Craig did more in around 16 games than Close has done in god knows how many years.

Westbrooke starts tonight. That just leaves Close (2-3 weeks), Maxwell (3 months) and Lawlor (back on Saturday) on the treatment table.

Close due back on pitch for Huddersfield game.

But Wood out for 'a while' with recurrence of an ankle knock.

I think we expected him to come off on Saturday but we'd made all our subs. McCann says he wouldn't come off.

This is what I feared in pre season. Feel GM has left us short at CB as I’ve mentioned in other threads. An injury to Anderson now and in my opinion we are buggered. Also, whenever Anderson and Olowu have partnered each other we have always shipped goals for fun. Again just my opinion but hope this is addressed before the window closes

McGrath available too and if really pushed Bailey could play CB, so unless there's another major injury, I doubt they'll see it as a priority.

Seemed to be positive comments about Olowu and McGrath in the Salford game. Faulkener set to return in November too.

There is absolutely no way, in a squad of this size we should ever need to move Bailey into defence again.

I can’t see us ever starting a game with Bailey playing there again. We will see a loan come in before that happens I feel. Also Olowu and Mcgrath were very good against Salford but better sides will take them apart. If Wood is looking at a lengthy lay off then we surely have to go into the market. Not only for his defensive capabilities but for the calmness to the players around him and organisation that he offers. His replacement is Olowu who is erratic at the best of times.

We have three centre halves Faulkner can’t play while January when the next transfer window opens. We have Flint at Darlington who is not available till after the 7 th of September. We don’t want to move Bailey back to centre half unless it’s a priority but the midfield will be weaker.
We shouldn’t be taking Risks with the Everton game either we need the best eleven fit for PortVale 12:30 next Saturday

100% Bailey is a back up centre back.

Look at the amount of midfielders we have to cover him if he moves in to defence.

I wouldnt mind clifton and kelly together if bailey had to drop back for a short spell.

Dont fancy the olowu and anderson partnership. They play well apart but not together

Bailey is our key man in the middle and best centre mid. No way he should be playing cb. He's starting to add goals to his game now too.

Maybe GM might rethink signing a striker on loan and go for a defender. Faulkner can't play till Jan. Is McGrath good enough not sure. Olowu and Ando. Eeeek. Although I'm hopeful Olowu can fulfil his potential this season as he looked great at the back end of last when called upon.

Wood confirmed as having fractured ankle and needs plate inserting. Out for at least two months.
