Scored a penalty on his debut to get Birmingham a home point v Reading.

There was 20+ debut scorers in the EFL, including 2 of the rovers.

Watched Alfie yesterday, looked like an 8 year old in an over 18’s match.
Barely touched the ball.
Prefer Billy all day long.

Something that irritates me is calling Sharp’s appearance yesterday a “debut”. How can you have a second first appearance? (or in this case a third or fourth?)

He's already a fans favourite after scoring two in their friendly win v West Brom last week.

Sorry, I’ll rephrase it,  one of our players scored on hi re-debut.

Wasn’t a dig at you Jimmy, was on the commentary yesterday and it’s a common thing these days.

Maybe he would be better thanking Cheltenham. That is when he really started kicking on.

Good luck to him, he’s made a couple of great moves and gained himself a fantastic opportunity all down to his hard work and commitment. He was one of the really nice guys at rovers and I don’t begrudge him his success in any way.

A legend in waiting at Rovers, disregarded by so many but appreciated by the few with a trained eye for talent.

Those with a trained eye for talent and those without, didn't have a say in his future so while your fishing might catch the odd bite, it's a mute point really.

Wish it was a “mute” point, I’m bored of hearing it!

It was meant as a tongue-in-cheek, light-hearted post. If you didn't see it like that, that's your problem.

Tend to agree. That goal that he scored against Man City seemed to give him proper self-belief.

FLW has been informed that May is on the verge of becoming a Huddersfield player after Grant's side agreed a £1.2 million deal with Birmingham.

The Blues striker is now expected to sign for Huddersfield imminently, and FLW understands that 32-year-old May is set to undergo a medical in West Yorkshire today in order to complete the move.

What's Feo Lortune West got to do with this?

Had a long chat with Leo the other day at a mutual friend’s funeral reminiscing about his time at the Rovers.

This is a club that lose over a million a month. How can we have a sport where that’s acceptable in the third tier ?
They bought Dion Charles in Jan for reportedly 750k, he contributed a grand total of zero goals!
No wonder that we hear another story every week about a club that is on the brink!

The whole philosophy underpinning football today is corrupt, broken. There's not even a semblance of fair competition at any PL or FL level. Shit management is one thing. But Huddersfield losing over a million a month and seriously endangering their own future is another. How can any sensibly run club compete with that short term? Football has become a power game, not a sport. Half the PL owned now by those famously generous Yanks. Sheikh and oligarchs owning plenty of the remainder. Are they in it for the sport? Because they love Arsenal? Like hell they are.

Interesting article posted in Feb 2025 when they were expecting another substantial loss (£15m)....

Huddersfield Town FC owner Kevin Nagle predicts further big financial losses but sets out stadium development plans | Insider Media https://share.google/GteRjnrt5nI3xAtmn

Summary: "The club's nominal debt to its owners increased from £30,482,651 to £47,382,651, indicating a further investment of £16.9 million by Kevin Nagle"

Revenue will have to increase by some margin to cover those losses, but depends what losses Nagle believes are sustainable going forward and what his long term intentions are.
