Season Opening Games at Home and Copps

In his interview I heard Grant saying they had given Copps some banter about all those years without a home win in an season opener. Actually that is probably even more accurate than he would have thought.

Our last win at home on a season opening day was in 2004-05 at home to Blackpool. That was Copps' first season with us, having signed from Exeter over the summer of 2004. However he did not play in that match - he had a suspension hanging over from a red card late in the previous season with Exeter. So indeed in all his 17 seasons with us he never played in a successful opening day home win.
