What about the other 3 defenders? Sounds like they all had stinkers.
For me it's time Olowu starts with Wood/Anderson
Olowu is also highly suspect at times. Wood and Anderson the safe option.

At his age with his pace I think we get more out of playing him than both wood/anderson
Echo the Olowu comments. If we are going to be playing on the edge of our box then Wood and Anderson are about the best in the division. If we’re going after teams and playing high up they are going to look silly now and again. Olowu would play that role way better. For me Nixon is better at right back too. Hopefully just some early season selection wrinkles in what is a very strong squad.

We know Olowu is good with everything in front of him and his pace comes in handy. He's just a little more unsure when he's turned going back towards goal. The issue with Sterry v Nixon, whilst Nixon has the edge defensively, he's not as good in the forward areas, although it's something he'll hopefully work on. Sterry has a little more composure and generally picks the right pass/cross.
