He signed a 3 year deal in 2023 - so still has a year on Barnsley's books.  Had a glorious season at Crawley and Cardiff saw something in him - but the reported £1 million fee they paid appears OTT now.

Wasn’t it just half a season?

Goes to show that paying big money for a striker just because they’ve hit a bit of form and are top of the scoring charts mid-season is dumb. But most fans would want their club to do it.

Oh dear. Moving from second placed York City to mid-table also rans Hartlepool
United seems a backwards step for the lad. Thought he had it in him to be a decent EFL player.

Thought he was good at York last season. Strange move.

Yes, Micky, it looks like Crawley had Cardiff's trousers down.

John Lundstram signed for Hull City on season loan from Trabzonspor. Decent move for him at 31.

Street looking electric for Lincoln here. Unlucky not to be credited with that first goal. Typical movement from him.

Not unlucky really, he played a cross that was not on target and the defender put it on target and in?

Cant believe the space he had!

Would've loved him back but it ain't happening.

Clean sheet for Big Tom on his debut yesterday along of course with a booking. Uninspiring 0-0 home draw with Bromley is a bit concerning though.

Actually I had thought that as they were in League One last season and signings like Big Tom and Sam Stubbs, they would be a far better bet for promotion. As it stands they are also rans with the bookies, not much different at all to Bromley. So maybe that was quite a decent result for them!

Superb ball into the box by Andrew by the way leading to Stockports second goal.

I wouldn’t say a 0-0 first fixture result would be concerning, for any side in any division.

I watched Brandon Fleming play for Derry City my local team Shamrock Rovers yesterday. He played well although Rovers won comfortably enough in the end.

I really rated Brandon Fleming.

Yep, both started on Saturday along with Big Tom. They had Sam Stubbs and Sam Clucas starting also. A strong side for League Two. Managed by Michael Appleton as well. Ex-Rover Sean Parrish is their first team coach.

Now there's a player we could do with in our midfield right now!

That is what I thought but they are absolutely nowhere with the bookies. Odds closer to relegation than promotion.

The thinking is they have signed a load of big names who are either past it or don't fit with Appleton's preferred style of play. Plus in the last couple of years there is a trend of sides dropping into L2 then being relegated again. I can see it.
