Overconfident?

Confidence is great, overconfidence can be disastrous. After the first two games, I didn't know where the next defeat was coming from!

About 90% of us were confident of a victory at Newport in the PvO. As it turned out they were overconfident.

Maybe the players were too?

Maybe. They were a decent side who took their chances. We look good going forward but still lack the guile, technical skill and situational awareness to turn enough chances into goals.

Defensively we get surprised way too often by teams on the break and leave way too much space for them to run into.

I’m sure GM is thrashing these things out daily.

Since the run started back in January we have only lost twice - on both occasions 3-1, both away, and both to extremely average opposition.

Being pedantic sorry.
The run started on 2nd Feb at Sutton.
18 games 14 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat.

I agree, we have to start the 2nd half of games better than we did today, much better, ther's a lethargy in our play at times, & we look like we don't have to compete as much as our opponents.

This is a tough league, & we won't be given an easy ride by anyone. Yes we have good players, but we have to match sides for fight & determination, thàt was lacking today, & we looked nowhere near like a promotion seeking side. Twelve signings they have made, & they have beaten us comortably.

Did anyone else think that the Newport player in front of our keeper for the 2nd goal should have been given offside?
