Saturday & Tuesday

Can’t wait for these two games.

League season back on track with a 3-0 victory.

Then a 1-1 draw at Goodison.

A bit of driving / coaching but worth every minute.

Trust in Grant.

Whilst Morecambe and the League  will define our future ,the Everton game will be an occasion to display our team spirit  against all odds .

Everton is a winnable game for any half decent football league side. They've got 14 fit players for Saturday according to Dyche. They're crap with all their players

The Everton game might be winnable if we are at our very best and Everton have an off day AND we get all the good luck on the day.
The PL players are like well oiled machines and no one should take them lightly.

Same should be said of Morecambe. Some seem to think it's going to be an easy win.

We put up a good show v Everton last season despite our poor first half season form. With these one off Cup ties, owt can happen. We've seen top flight teams being humbled before but it's something we've never done away from home in my lifetime. Nearest being the 2-2 at Anfield.

Premiership teams are way out of our class but it is all on the day and we need to play above ourselves.
Last season they put a player of class on and he destroyed us in about twenty minutes and it  is what they can do.
Our best hope is for them to get a good result this weekend and them make a host of changes, and we will still have to be above ourselves to get anything, I hope we do, but don't underestimate their class, on their night they can be very very good.

Come on, there’s an absolute gulf in quality between PL and league 2. We can upset the odds (it’s done every season by somebody, usually) but equally we could spend the full 90 minutes chasing shadows.

Last Saturday doesn’t give me hope Morecambe is a walk over, either. Need to shake that one off and get back on track. A solid, professional performance is what is required.

I wasn't originally intending to come to the Morecambe game but I purchased a 5 match ticket recently and I can't easily get to many games so since I can with this one I will be in attendance. I won't be able to get to Everton. I expect to get to as many away games as home games this season so hopefully about 10 games. Will catch a fair number of other games on Sky.

My concern is for the Port Vale game. Will we have a team that will be able to get a win or will we have to put out a weakened team that gets well beaten as all the effort has gone into the Everton game.

The club aspires to professional standards throughout and such an attitude would surely be totally unacceptable.

We are 1 CH short of having two elevens so who ever the eleven is today we change for the others on Tuesday. Then we will have fresh players ready for PortVale as long as no more injuries. Would it be called a weakened side as many supporters have called for players that not in the starting eleven to play. Example Nixon Olowu McGrath Westbrooke Yeboah Sharp

Theoretically perhaps, but in practice do you really think we are really that strong?

We will have chance to play two elevens against each other this week with maybe one of the U 18s at CH. Grant will have made up his mind which players he will start on Saturday. Then if he wanted and I would change them all for Tuesday. The League Morecambe and PortVale are the important games. But the side on Tuesday if they play like they did at Salford will give Everton a game whether they win not sure but that can’t be guaranteed which ever eleven we play

In isolation, Tuesday was a creditable show, but then came Saturday. So much hangs on how they perform this afternoon and this will surely influence what team he puts out on Tuesday with the overwriting priority Port Vale w.e.f. 5pm today.

One game at a time, just concentrate on the game today, it is the only one that matters until it is over.
