The sceptic/conspiracy theorist in me thinks there is something more to this, in reality its probably nothing though...

People on here raised serious doubts about their financial clout. Especially when a full takeover was rumoured.

I have to confess I’d never heard of them before they got involved in the rovers.

Hopefully it’s nothing that seriously affects us.

I wish we could give our stadium a proper name at last. It can still have a sponsor (e.g. like Rotherham).

Sold the profitable part of the company and can’t justify paying large amounts of sponsorship to a football club any more.

How long was the contract on the stadium naming rights.

Well it won't happen overnight.

The truth is that sponsorship worked for them in a way, they raised their profile to the point where the main part of their business, waste management, was acquired by a much larger company that we've all heard of, Biffa. Now that's happened the much smaller company that's left needs to reassess where it stands and sponsorship of that scale doesn't fit.

I'd trust the commercial arm of the club to do its job and come up with a suitable replacement.

It's got a proper name The Keepmoat, at least to some of us

Great endorsement for sponsorship of our stadium to new prospects. Use Eco power’s example of growth and subsequent sale….Ideal scenario.

yes, because keepmoat isn’t the name of a company is it?

It doesn't matter, they were the 1st sponsor so to many it's still The Keepmoat
How many have you heard talk about the Eco Power? Still many refer to it  as the Moat or Keepmoat

Does this mean we will have no shirt sponsor for the foreseeable?

There was a decent sized cohort of fantasists pushing Eco-Power to take over from Terry the other year. Even before the sale of a division of their business, this was in no way a credible option. They did not have the finance available to acquire and run a league club. If the sale of part of the business had occurred after buying Rovers, you can imagine the chaos.

No it doesn't. Shirts are all ordered and printed etc. So nothing changes for the immediate future.

Wonder if sponsorship is cheaper, and thus more attractive, if you aren't forced to sponsor the belles and dons as well

Viagra Stadium, seems quite fitting as some of our younger supporters think they are hard as f**k.

Just as long as they don't name the stadium after a betting company.

Seeing that Biffa has taken over the profitable part of eco-power, maybe the stadium could be renamed The Biffa Stadium?    ;)

Well, thinking ahead, whoever wins the contract to operate the airport, might want to embed themselves into the community in different ways.
