The big irony of PL U21 sides is that if we could get one of these lads on loan we would expect great things of him - the Craig/Harry Kane/Ramsey effect. Put a team of them together and you might expect them to just sail past L1 and L2 sides!

Why don't they?

Because we have Joseph Olowu, who was a prominent member of Arsenal U21s. There's lots of u21s from top teams who don't make the transition from their u21s to their senior teams for various reasons and find themselves looking for new employers, with some willing to drop down the leagues before rising again. There's others like boy wonder John Bostock who took the wrong step at the wrong time. Some I guess, just can't handle the demands and pressure at the top.

Then there's Tommy Rowe who's gone full circle, ending up right where he started.

Because for every Matty Craig and Herbie Kane there’s a Mipo Odubeko and Aidan Barlow

I thought that this game would be on Sky+ but after checking, it isn’t showing up as a scheduled match.
It is there, all the bsm trophy games are listed as being shown.

Ah, my bad, found it now.
My wife says there are two things she doesn’t like about me.
First that I don’t listen to her and ……. I can’t remember what the other thing was.

On the subject, mate, you were looking for a stream for the MK game. Did you find one?

I suppose that I am out of touch with the quality of loanees who do make a difference at Championship level which is perhaps the key to potential. Certainly some who shine in L1 and L2 do make careers in the second tier and some (like Ramsey) do so in the PL. I assumed that there would be enough U21s etc., at most PL clubs to make up 3 or 4 teams at each junior age level, so the ones who were first choices and playing in this Cup would be good quality with real futures.

No SS, I didn’t.  I ended up listening to the Radio Sheffield commentary.

Harry Kane managed to be better than L1 level.

Ironside getting splinters again.

Debuts for Kasper Williams and Emmanuel. Good luck Kasper.

Expected midfield with Kelly, Broadbent and Sbarra. Bill, Yeboah and Hurst make up the forward line. Olowu guiding young Kasper at the back with Senior & Emmanuel making up the back line.

Strong bench.

Tommy Rowe starting for Man Utd

Been a while since he was under 21! Makes a complete mockery of the whole inclusion of PL under 21 teams!!  :boxing:

Lawlor watched it go in with no attempt at a save.
