We’ve been so dominate there in the last 3 league games (1-5, 1-3, 1-5) that you’d think surely it can’t continue and we’re are due a bad one. But I guess each season is different and it purely comes down to the better side on the day. We know our squad is strong, I just worry about Joe and Jay as a pair. No doubt they are good players, but prefer it when they have the experience of wood or Anderson alongside one of them to keep them in position and focused.

Should be a cracker though hopefully

Kyle Hurst, has been the biggest conundrum this season.
I would be tempted to put an arm round him and tell he’s got 90 minutes v Grimsby and to have a right go, with total faith in him and to relax a bit.

Confidence looks shot and got to question his mentality, bags of ability but like you say needs an arm around him and a run of games. It's make or break this season for him.

Can see our press forcing a mistake from their defence trying to play out from the back here.

I understand their Icelandic winger is lightning fast but apart from him and maybe Rodgers at set pieces, I can’t see many threats.

Would go for:

TSL

Sterry
Olowu
McGrath
Senior

Bailey
Kelly
Clifton

Gibson
Ironside
Molyneux

Not too far off. McCann has gone for the same side but Fleming not Senior and Sharp not Ironside.

Midfield of Bailey, Clifton and Kelly looks combative.

Not sure it is his best position but looks like Sbarra is now preferred over Hurst in the wide left position.

Id start the same team as last night, with the exception of Sbarra and Yeboah. Bring in Mols and Gibson.

Some half that, and Ed Duckworth had gone up in my estimation!

Although Grimsby look like us last Saturday, playing rubbish and losing their heads at the officiating.

Some superb passing for the Goals, and Sterry’s run for the second was unbelievable, he actually tied his marker in a knot and left him flat on his backside, sheer magic.you don’t see that very often.
Thought Fleming had his best game today. Kelly excellent too, amongst others, tore Grimsby apart that first 45.

Does anyone know if Gibson was offside for his first goal?. Grimsby fans were going nuts

Olowu injured in warm up. Broadbent starts, Bailey into CB.

McCann said after game: "He just felt his back in the warm-up, a spasm. I wouldn't imagine it's something that will keep him out for too long. We had to make a quick call and Owen came in and was very good.“

Thought we were excellent first half. Hungry, incisive, relentless and could have scored more than 3. We did enough second half - didn’t maintain the intensity but didn’t need to, although would have been nice to have scored one or two more.

Totally missed a player being sent off.

No one around us in our end knew about the sending off until someone noticed it on their phone at half time.
It must have happened while we were celebrating the third goal.

Funny isn't it? Oluwu out so Broadbent came in and he was outstanding.  Our best performances have been with Broadbent in midfield.

I’m sure that Bailey and Broadbent shared the back four and midfield duties.
If one of them went forward the other filtered back to cover.
Both had tremendous games today.

Thought Clifton, Broadbent and Kelly were excellent today.

Just a pity we took our foot off the gas 2nd half. We could have had 6 today if we had been interested.
Not sure why we were not with no midweek game to play.
Is goal difference not important?

He got a straight red.
