The top four in L2 now on 19 points.
All of them with six wins, one draw and three defeats.

After our win today we have won eight of our last ten matches against Grimsby.

My first visit to BP and bloody hell what an absolute shit hole. Literally dog shit everywhere on the approach to the ground.
The stadium itself is a dump, surprised me a bit tbh.

However much science is injected into the game, it cannot overcome the footballing gods.

Our last four visits in the league have been 3-0, 5-1, 3-1 and 5-1. This goes back to 2017. These four victories have been overseen by three different managers over seven seasons.

Grimsby and ourselves have been at times good, bad and very bad sides during this period. There is no reason why we should have such an astounding record there in the league (i.e. when we are playing in the same tier). It could be absolute chance but more likely, psychology must play a part, even though totally different players and managers over that period.

It's the same for us with turds like Harrogate that we consistently step into.

What was their player sent off for?

Mouthed off at the ref twice in about 15 seconds. Two yellows.
He got a straight red.

2 yellows according to Grimsby shown a yellow for gobbing off at the the ref then he carried on gobbing off to him 2nd yellow within 10 or 15 seconds of the first silly boy he was

Down as straight red according to the Press Association. Better news that we got our discipline back today. No cautions for anyone.

Steve, foul and abusive language is enough for a red card.

What an atmosphere from our fans. Just got home. Every single player in the starting 11 deserves MOM.

It's an old fashioned ground in a deprived area , that's what you get ; it depends what you like - I'm more into it and the Belle Vue , Fratton Park, old Colchester ground type and areas but if you are looking for a 'nice' ground ' to visit , it's no good . Today was nice for you guys though

It's well documented the depravity of Grimsby and its a very sad situation. Not sure poverty shaming gets anyone anywhere. I'm sure you wouldn't do it in "other" deprived areas

Think perhaps that should be "deprivation". Although, well, it could also be your terminology.

I must say, I rather like Blundell Park. A good old fashioned ground. My grandson lives in Grimsby, so I've been there a few times. Only time I saw Rovers there was a cup game in the Darren Moore days, and we lost 1 nil. Parking round there is a nightmare, though

If Grimsby had won today, they would be in the play offs and we would be out of them.

Going in to the game today we had both won the same number of games.

They are no mugs.

Great team game today, some of the passing was top drawer, with a bit more luck we could of had a hat full. Nice to see Gibson get his goals, the confidence boost for him should be massive and well deserved.

Could not really knock anyone today , everyone played their part, Bailey coming into he back at very short notice was outstanding alongside JMcG, both full backs took the opportunity from having to defend to get up the line and supported Mols and Gibson very well. If anything i feel BS will be a little frustrated with his performance, he had a couple of opportunities that a player like him usually buries, you can't win them all and as always he gets into the right positions to get the opportunities in the first place, it will come for him as he sticks to his game plan.

The midfield worked very hard today to gain dominance and after that they ran the show, Broadbent had a good game, didn't do anything to flash and kept it neat and tidy, that gash on his nut looked sore. Kelly also had a steady game, looks like GM is building him into it carefully and i think it will pay us in dividends down the line, getting better and making better judgement calls about when to play it safe and when to run it, has a good engine and will grow with us. Clifton to me was the pick of the trio, covered every blade it looked like and his drive and intensity was constant from first to last, think we've dropped on with an absolute bargain in getting him, kind of player who you know you've been in  match against, proper beast, just what we need.

My only gripe is a selfish one, i wanted them to continue to go for it second half, thought it looked like a game where we could really correct the goal difference but steady as she goes from GM means we come off the park in great fettle and with a massive boost to our confidence.

Hope Olowu's back was just an odd spasm and he's back in for sat, needs to play games and maintain his confidence.

Proper professional performance from us today, gets us straight back onto our required trajectory, progress.

Parking is easy enough if you don’t leave it late to get there.
Plenty of free parking spaces on Grimsby Road and some of the side streets.

We've got a clear week this week so you would imagine for our next game both Maxwell and Westbrooke will be in the squad, and potentially Olowu fit as well. Only Nixon and Wood out injured, and Anderson banned.

Definitely two yellow cards, I saw the referee produce both followed by the red.

Jesus christ,  poverty shaming? I grew up in balby without a pot to piss in ffs.

Right, I usually love the older grounds but for some reason , BP didn't hit that spot for me.

all depends what he said

Also had to laugh at sum of rovers fans clapping their players as they came out to warm up thinking they were donny players

To be fair though, Gibson was about three miles offside for the first goal.

Yin and Yang after last week.

Looked onside to me.

“Three miles offside” is a bit over the top.

He was at least 5 yards off. As bad an offside call as I've ever seen. But what the hell. These calls balance out.
