I couldn't make anything out from the goalmouth scramble that led to the penalty. Who got fouled?

Picture of the handball on this post, still hard to see but it’s a clear penalty with his hand way up in the air.

Well done to the ref spotting that handball through a crowd of players.

Has their defender tried goalkeeping, great punch away.

I spotted the handball straight away at the game. It was blatant.  At the time I thought he was topping it going in but it was going well wide which makes it baffling why he did it.  Their defending generally today was absolutely shambolic and we really should have won comfortably.

Usher wide.

Rovers players in the box all indicated a handball immediately it happened. Mind you, that doesn’t seem to affect the refs decision on nine out of ten occasions so the ref must have seen it too.

If the ref saw enough to give a penalty surely it had to be a sending off as well, it was a great one handed punch save from a defender! Very much preventing an obvious goal scoring opportunity?

As it happens it wouldn’t have affected our game as it was too late, but he would have got a ban for a game or two?

It looked like it might have gone over everybody. I bet he got some stick in their dressing room after the game.

Yes a clear handball, the Swindon commentary team called handball before the ref had blown. Their comments were that their player thought he was the goalkeeper!
Cannot understand why the player was not given a red?

Watching just the highlights (and having been unable to listen to the commentary) you would have thought that Swindon had the majority of the play. Yet the stats suggest Rovers did most of the attacking and certainly had a lot more accurate attempts on goal.

I wonder, was the handball necessary to prevent Rovers scoring or might we consider ourselves fortunate that the defender felt it was essential to prevent a goal?

Just seen a Swindon fan blog, filmed from behind their goal. It's potentially close to suggest that he used is hand/arm to steer the ball into the net?

wasnt denying a obvious goal scoring opportunity though as it would have gone over everyone and wide

Yes saw that. Looked like it came off his upper arm.

The Rovers behind the scenes vlog, shows the Swindon hand clearly for the penalty from behind the goal.

Not so. The still posted previously shows that Joe Ironside would have had a simple header at the far post.
