Opening up a 4 point lead at top of table, can’t let it getting wider.

They play Gillingham then Morecambe next - both bang out of form. We've got Notts County which is a big big game at the top.

They could be up by Easter, if they keep up the form they are in, Moore must be doing something right. Our next two league games are at home. Ideally we need to pick up 6 points, and hope PV drop points, but can’t see it happening.

Nothings decided in October. Just look after ourselves, keep as close to that 2pts per game average, and we'll see where both clubs are come the business end.

Crikey 4 points is nothing with 32 games to play.
We will catch them as will Notts C & Chesterfield imo.

We will also have to put some goals in. The goal difference for those currently on 26 points pushes us down a place or three.

   We're +4  I think, without checking, the others are + 10 and + 12 or thereabouts.

Agree 4 points is nothing at this stage of the season, but they could easily open up a 10 point lead in the next 2 or 3 games, that then is something to be concerned about. We need to keep them in our sights.

Even 10 point lead at Christmas has seen plenty of teams fall away and not go up. We're in a good position and just need to keep plugging away. The time to hit good form is February. Just think had we not had a horrendous first 4 months last season. Don't get me wrong as guns it's nice to look at the table at this stage when you ate top but I bet Grant and his staff take no notice of it other than form tables.

Moore’s a fraud and a hopeless manager isn’t he? Surely only a matter of time until they sink like a stone.

Not sure I agree with that Nick. He's not a bad manager imo. Not perfect but who is.

If they are well ahead he’ll get a sniff of interest from a L1 team and be gone. PV could get 100pts this season and I’d still rather have Grant every day

                                   Goals for.   Goals against.

Port Vale.                           23.             15.

Rovers.                              20.              16.

We’re hardly a million miles off!

Do we really care as long as we finish in the top 3. I don’t. The objective has to be getting out the league, end of. Anything else is a bonus but not essential as far as I’m concerned.

It’s funny isn’t it? A few weeks ago they were floundering down the bottom, and their fans were questioning his ability. Just goes to show how a run at this stage can catapult a team up the table.

Carlisle are an interesting case this year. Sacked their manager and signed the MK manager who wants Uber-progressive process driven football when they don’t have the squad to play that style (Sounds familiar - especially to Harrison Biggins).
They’ve spent loads of money! American owners who came in last year. Now could be facing a double drop.

It's a bit rich some posters talking about teams blowing a 10 point lead, don't forget we came 3rd in a 1 horse race under Fergie

Sorry, should probably have put an emoji as it was a very facetious post. I think he did well for us but it’s ignored by the majority on here because of the manner in which he left and his lack of charisma.

I believe he is on a five year deal so a L1 club wanting him would probably have to pay hefty compensation money to PV.

Promotion is the aim, I’m not fussed about finishing 1st.

I will be chuffed with a top three finish but am really hoping to win the title as I put a few quid on us to win it at 14/1 before the season began.

Yes promotion is the aim but do you want us to be the best team, 2nd best team or 3rd best team in the league. I know which I want and there is a record up for grabs. No team has won the 3rd tier and 4th tier 8 times. If we are Champions then we will have that record.
So yes I badly want to win the league, something we should have done in 2016/17 but Fergie allowed our team to take their eye off the ball.
Don’t see GM doing the same. He is a winner and wants us to be Champions.

We will catch them, trust me.

As an aside, Gillingham’s recent form is alarming after setting a blistering pace at the start of the season.
One point from the last 18 possible.

Which might mean a shirt next year with more gold stars on it since ‘JR sewed’ those three above the Viking badge after we were the first team to win the then 4th division on three separate occasions!

Don’t you just love a ‘showman’!

Thought they looked awful when we played them when they had the ball. Look quite solid without it though
