Barrow fans
« on November 02, 2024, 10:49:06 pm by Pancho Regan »
I was walking from the ground back to my car after the match, through all the Barrow fans who were walking in the opposite direction.

I had two things shouted at me by Barrow supporters.

The first was “Good luck against whoever you get in the next round mate”.

The second was “Safe journey home mate”.

They had just seen their team knocked out of the cup by a late Rovers goal.

That is class.
Hats off to them.

You know what Pancho, that’s the kind of thread you want to hear whatever the competition is.

Thanks for sharing.

Had some great banter with some of their fans pre game seemed a good bunch (other than those singing let him die when Sterry was getting treatment)

Great banter in the Sports Bar before the game when a Rovers fan took on a Barrow fan at pool.

Huge cheer from Donny fans when ‘we’ won the game of pool and a really good atmosphere between the two sets of fans.

That was another Rovers - Furness Rovers FC.
I chatted to one of their officials before the match. They are literally a goal-kick away from Barrow’s ground next door!

They play in the Barrow Eats Premier Division.
They lost 4-1.

That is exactly how football should be. Win lose or draw just enjoy the day and move onto the next game.

Sounds about right to me, are you saying it's cheap or expensive?

And what does it have to do with their fans? You sound like a good Yorkshire man, at least!

I'm told it's £6.90 for a pint of Madri at Oakwell .

When I go to Wakefield Trinity it's £4.50 and £8 for a two pinter , Rugby League prices are more realistic than football .

I'd say Barrow are very cheap personally .

Less than £4 a pint. Bar Spoons and a few others that's very cheap and at football which is normally a rip off

Yep, ridiculously cheap when a single pint of Madri and a Diet Coke at Rovers costs £9 odd.  Good to see that not all football fans are being ripped off.

Ha ha I was thinking on the cheap side for a footy ground, it's very rare I have a pint at the game though so don't really notice the prices.

Madri is £6 a pint at our ground.

So that makes a can of Diet Coke over £3 then!

watched the rovers v barrow    pool game in the bar, great fun Adam Browns dad won it for Rovers
then went out to see the Furness rovers v Kirby game for 1st half
no proper ref, Kirby scored just on half time, after missing a sitter  on the goal line, and hit the crossbar
they played in red and white hoops, keeper loved that we were supporting them.....
about 15 further rovers fans watching game as well.......
