Really believe this is the start of a winning run. It’s coming.

Wouldn’t at all be surprised to see us top the league at Christmas. Grant seems to like little targets like that, wouldn’t be a shocked if he’s set that goal.

We all thought this with Bromley. I think this is a hell of a tougher game than it looks on league positions alone. They are very resilient away from home and we have struggled with these types of sides. Add to that curveballs like Taylor and who knows, Adelakun and it could be difficult. Let’s see.

Just saying what I think will happen, not it definitely will.

Bromley got lucky, we’d have won that game 9 times out of 10 with the same performance.

We keep going into games feeling reasonably confident thinking this is the one when it's going to click. It's not quite happened yet at home as we seem to make scoring goals a little more complicated.

We hear McCann and ourselves talk about being more ruthless in front of goal but how do we become more ruthless? How do you coach that?

I think it's fair to say, we're creating enough chances and opportunities to win games so, irrespective of what colour shirts we play against, is it just the ability to get that ball between the sticks without shanking, slicing, looping , bobbling the ball?

When you think about the four goals that hit the back of the net against Accriington with great simplicity, what's gone wrong?

We’ve just been through a run of games that on paper were mainly difficult. We’re now starting a run of games that look on paper less difficult.

we have better results against teams in the top half of the table.  Why? Probably because they come out and try to attack us.  We seem to struggle against teams who are set up to defend first..

Heading north tomorrow for this one.

We’ve an empty treatment room and are in decent form.

They’ve not got the big fella upfront now.

We 100% need to make a statement and win well.

I would like to think we will Upton, it would really help our cause with the goal differences,  unlikely though even if we play well 3 goals are more the norm.

Don’t start piling on the optimism, please! Whenever we start thinking about how many goals we’re going to win by against a TLO club we get a nasty surprise.

I’m going for a fairly even but scrappy and boring game with very little of interest except  we win 1-0.

It won’t be boring. They’ll be plenty of interest & a lot more goals than 1, & that’s before half time.

Time to kick back & light up a cigar, metaphorically speaking.

Will be interesting to see what the attendance drops back to today. Probably in the eyes of some, a 'routine' fixture on what's looking like a dank cool day. I guess 7500 would be good??

Hope we get something to warm us all up!

Going to be 12 degrees according to google so not too bad. 10 degrees in Bradford now and Donny is always warmer than here. Still taking a scarf though.

Good odds on Jay McGrath to score. It’s coming.

Think 7500 would be very good.
That would mean only losing about 350 home fans from last week assuming Salford bring an away following of 150
Think Salford isn’t as an attractive fixture by comparison to Notts C. So suspect we may only get 7200 at best. I hope I am wrong and would love to see an 8.000 + gate but I think we need to be top of the league before we get 8.000 home fans turning up on a regular basis.

Hoping for a big performance from our lads today.

I do think the 1st goal will be decisive in how the game pans out.
We get the 1st goal and I am hopeful we can get 3/4
If they score 1st we have a battle on i suspect but we are still capable of winning of course
These next 4 league games I think could be a marker for how strong we will be in the 2nd half of the season.
Being greedy I want 3 points v Salford H, Carlisle A, Fleetwood A, & Cheltenham H
Yes 3 points at Highbury. You heard it here 1st  :chair:
We have to do it sometime don’t we. This is the season.  :)

I think “ruthless” is remaining composed in front of goal. There is tendency to shoot wildly rather than thinking about getting it on target, but not necessarily with 100% power. A ground level shot is less likely to get deflected over the bar and many of our goals come via that route. Easier said than done of course.

They have exactly the type of away form that could cause us problems. Aside from Notts County (zero away losses) Salford City have the best unbeaten away record this season (one away loss) but they have this with an astounding five away draws. They have actually only won a single away game in the league this season, and lost zero. They have only conceded eight away goals, the same as leaders Port Vale and the best away record holder Notts County.

Difficult to understand why he subs Kelly and Yeboah really needs to work on his speed.

Another dire performance at home, the normal 4-3-3 formation at home for some reason just does not work. As soon as we go 3 at the back we look a lot better team.

Please can anyone tell me how Yeboah gets in the squad? He is terrible and needs to go back in January.

+1 on sending Yeboah back to Bristol City. Every time he gets the ball he loses it. That second lot of substitutions cost us our final chance of 3 points.

Would have liked to see sharp and maxwell on from the start. Gibson and Fleming offer little.

On the left doesn't seem to be Gibsons position. A good player but think we need someone else there.
