Once a goalscorer, always a goalscorer.
He also showed his class in his post match interview.

Bit classless when he went over to their fans and gave a bit after he scored.

Agreed. Well done Billy, you scored (that's your job FYI) against a non league team who took us to 120 mins and then gave it to their fans. Big man

I don’t agree.

They booed his every touch and pelters all match.

I’m glad he got the opportunity to give back what he received

It’s his passion for every part of the game, get a team full of players with Billy’s passion, mentality and ability, you will not lose many games.

The man has played in the premier league. Giving it large for scoring against a part time team is pathetic.

Absolutely - the Kettering fans (see vid after second goal) were loving giving him shit.

He shut them up in the best way possible.

Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.

If you're a professional footballer you're doing what every schoolboy dreams of, you're paid very handsomely for what you do, and your job as a forward is to score. If after that you've got such a small man complex you then have to give it the big one infront of opposition fans then it say more about that person. Oh diddums they called you some names. Boohoo

As the great Mario Balotelli once said "I don't celebrate because it's my job, a postman doesn't celebrate when he delivers a letter"  :woot: or words to that effect, legend haha

Well if anyone is familiar with the definition of ‘pathetic’ it would be you.

Loved it when he gave Noel-Williams that elbow in the back, got him rattled . By this stage he was tired and ran himself ragged but he was the danger man for them and took his goal superb.

Maybe he should just have walked away condescendingly because he's an ex-Premier League player playing against players beneath him.

Give me f**king strength.

The day Billy doesn't give it large is the day he hangs up his boots. It's part of his trade to celebrate goals and have the banter with fans no matter what level. He's been full circle don't forget and knows fans are just as passionate about their teams at any level. If I was a Kettering fan, I'd fully expect him to give some stick.

Billy’s always been one to really celebrate his goals, no matter who he’s playing against. Remember him going ape after he’d scored forus against Scunny early on in his career for us.
The Scunny fans didn’t like it at all.
Too bloke.

Exactly. If he signed for Kettering next week they'd have a month off work on the piss.

Give it a rest gazlaz, sharp has literally dragged us from being a giant killing live on tv, after over 105mins of football he scores the potential winner against fans that have been giving it to him all game.
What did you want him to do? Run 80 yards back to our fans to celebrate? Or just stand there and do nothing?
Billy has had this sort of stuff with opposition fans all his career. Why should he stop now.

What a weird take that is on being a footballer.
If you think players shouldn’t celebrate a goal then I don’t know what to say other than it’s absolute b*llocks

Exactly.

Billy’s second goal scored at the opposite end to where the Rovers fans were situated has put us through to a possible mouthwatering 3rd draw.

Billy is 39 next month, for all he knows it could well be the last goal he ever scores in this competition. Let’s celebrate the fact that he’s ’giving it large’ after that second strike to the away support 15 yards away rather than run 100 yards back to the Rovers fans to celebrate.

Get real.

I came on to write about that Scunny game TT.
Billy was questioned about whether he should have celebrated the goal against his former team and he said he always celebrates a goal he scores.

Yes, he does. He celebrated a goal he scored for Southampton against Rovers back in the early 2010's.

I'm still proud to have him as a Rovers player.

In fact 'proud' is an understatement.

I remember when we play Sheff Weds at the KM (as it was then) a few years ago and their fans had been at Billy all game.
Anyway, he scored for us at the south stand end then turned and ran towards the away end at full speed to celebrate in front of them.
He got just over halfway and our players intercepted and stopped him going right down in front of them.

It's called adrenaline, Hound. A rare component in footballers nowadays and obviously much maligned by some, as shown in this thread.
