Start in Wool Market then Masons, Rum Rooms, Queens is a great shout. Did this the other week and ended up in Social later watching a band. The new Irish Bar (the temple) near wool market has just opened and it looks amazing from what Iv seen on the free press website.
Came down from Edinburgh to meet up with my son and daughter and their partners to celebrate my 72nd birthday.Great day in hospitality, food and drinks were good, pre and post match entertainment good. Great seats.Have done it a few times and always enjoyed it.Only down side is the long walk back into town, but if you stay behind for the MOM stuff you can probably get a taxi to pick you up. Set up an account with the Drive app before you come down. They work like Uber in Donny.Thoroughly recommend it.
What other taxi firms are there in Donny?. Thought they had all been bought over by Drive
Never had an issue with Drive and prefer using the app.Do the others have easy to use apps?

Is there a few pubs on way back before centre to quench our thirst?
I go in the hospitality from time to time , I like the bar with proper glasses and also padded seat on halfway line , also sometimes takes ages to get served if you want a half-time pint in the concourses , as for pubs for people in 40s , Doncaster as a reputation of having a good nightlife and also day drinking . If I was getting the train in I would cross the busy road outside the railway station and there is the plough and tut and shive . Then would walk upto the black bull around the market , then maybe have one in the old wool market which as loads of street food stalls and live music , then onto the red lion just on the other side of the market , then work my way up hall gate , Yorkshire grey then hall cross and then salutation, then 15 min walk to ground . Could stop off at The Hyde park club midway so the walk isn’t as long , however this is an old working men’s club so don’t expect anything fancy with that one .
