Watched the penultimate episode last night, things are getting a bit sticky for Cromwell.

I'm sorry to see this draw to a close, I do think it's one of the really great pieces of BBC Drama and stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of I Claudius.

If you haven't watched it, boot up the iPlayer, it's well worth it.

If you know history you know the outcome but it is very interesting to see all of the court rivalries play out.

Yeah, I know the history. Still, I got quite excited watching the end of the 1966 World Cup final on TV for the first time, when they colourised it last year...

In the series Cromwell's house (interior & exterior) is a place called Great Chalfield Manor. I used to cycle past it on my way to and from work when they were filming around this time last year.

It a pity that they didn’t mention that the Rebel Army was camped on Scawsby Leys when Henry sent The Duke of Norfolk North to con them into disbanding!

It's a repeat of course but when I saw the series first time round I thought they'd done 'justice' to Hilary Mantel's excellent books.

It isn’t a repeat. This series started after Ann Boleyn was beheaded.

And he keeps having nightmares about it.

We have really enjoyed it, loved that you change your mind on Cromwell three or four times an episode.

Mark Rylance was mesmerising. Him and Michael Kitchen are two actors who can say more with a look than a hundred words.
