Two stats hopefully to lift spirits
« on December 29, 2024, 05:53:17 pm by Dutch Uncle »
The Calendar year 2024 has been our 5th most successful ever since 1901 (not including the years of 1939 and 1946 when only a half a season of football was played because of WW2)

Our record was P45, W24 D11 L10 for 83 points at 3 points per game (ppg), average 1.844 ppg

The only better years were (using 3ppg for fair comparison even though the pre-war three seasons were actually at 2 ppg) :

1927: P44 W26 D9 L9;   87 points at 1.977 ppg
1934: P41 W24 D9 L8;   81 points at 1.976 ppg
2003: P41 W24 D7 L10:  79 points at 1.927 ppg
1935: P45 W27, D4, L14; 85 points at 1.889 ppg

2003  of course comprised the second half of 2022-23, our promotion season from the Conference and the first half of 2023-24, our title winning season back in the league

Secondly home attendances are currently averaging 7612, our highest at tier 4 since 1968-69

Oh, and on the other hand the last time we had more than 5 red cards in a season was 2001-02 during our Conference days

Great stats. A great year with so far no prize.  Here's to a good 2025.
