If his contract does expire in the summer and there is no option for us it’s criminal. I’ve said if for years that he’s a hugely saleable asset and as of tomorrow he potentially speak to other clubs.

It's so funny many were trying to get rid of him last year.

Grant knows who to keep going with and who not too.

Tinpot managers on here, he is already noticing the moaning they we are third, the best thing is we didn't moan when we were bottom with him.

We don't want success that is the problem with some of our fans. They need to moan so make something up to moan about or know nothing about football.

Get behind the team, get behind grant and let's all go for it in 2025 and some of us will enjoy the promotion party.

Whilst I like the optimism, we are currently 4th, with two of the teams above us having a game in hand. If we want to get promoted, there is no doubt we need to step on the gas in the second half of the season. I’m not sure there is too much evidence this team in its current guise can do that - we are way too inconsistent.

Was just going to post something similar regarding Olowu, we have a very fickle fan base

I'll be honest,  I was one of those "fickle" fans who didn't rate Olowu.
I saw him bottle a 50/50 away at Peterborough,  then the shit show at Notts County where him and Anderson spent most of the match sat on their arse in the mud.

I never want any of our players to fail and I never abuse them from the stands.
I am thrilled to bits that he's now found his potential and is kicking on, he's also a lovely top bloke.

According to Sheffield star they reckon Rotherham Utd are sending Mallik Wilks back to Sheffield this week.

I know I’ve started early on the ale tonight, but with both Mallik and Matty Craig being sent back to their parent clubs, could the stars be aligning?
Well aware it’s pie in the sky but I can dream until we know better. Happy new year everyone.

Wilks is more likely than Craig I would guess.

Wilks, Craig and TLT would do the trick. Merry January everyone.

GM won't be looking for a keeper. It's not an area of concern for us.

However, I think most will agree, we do need that Craig replacement. If it’s not the man himself, then someone as good.

Even though I would like TLT I actually am starting to think that TSL is starting to look like a decent keeper. He obviously is a lot  more confident after a great run in the team.

Agree with this. He’s come on massively as the season has progressed. A great keeper.

The GK position is one of the least worries. Obsession with TLT is daft.

Hope these signings are done early as games go by quickly without them and we need them asap. CM and up top vital

The first signing, referred to as the statement signing, must be an experienced player to say that? GM is meeting them and their clubs representatives to sell then the DRFC dream and style of play. For me this takes out of the frame anyone we have had previously I.e. Matty Craig or any club we have had dealings with and know what we are about, I.e. Manu. Maybe this signing is Malik Wilks? Would be a statement signing for this league? Is going back to Sheff Weds. My worry would be injuries he missed a chunk of games at Rotherham through injury. OR it could be someone none of us are mentioning?

The second signing where GM said its more difficult he needs to meet the "club reps, his mum, his dad, his nan, his cat, his dog" that clearly sounds like a young kid and when GM came out with that in the interview my gut feel is he doesn't think that one is happening....but we will see I guess.

Grant mentioned no one would be in contention for today, I.e. not already in the building training early. Hopefully some quick business done in next couple days.

We will sign a couple of kids on loan and then it’s a lottery if they are good enough or not.

Is GM falling into the same trap that he set out for himself at the start of the season? Making the ‘statement’ signing comment, before anything has actually materialised has got everyone speculating at what that mean? Depending on who’s writing, we’re signing Adelakun, TLT, Craig, Wilks or some other hopeful and, in actual fact, it could be any or none of those. When and if it gets announced, there’ll be various amounts of moaning and groaning about whether it was a statement at all, depending who they thought it should be!
Happy New Year everyone. ;)

I wouldn't see Adelekun as a statement signing. As well as he did for us last year he is playing in this league already and not pulling up any trees when he isn't injured. That aside would Salford really want to let us have him? Really can't see it being Haks.

You would have to say that TSL has been a success this season. Kelly and Fleming have done ok when called on. Yeboah came too young and inexperienced. That's not a bad loan group but we need all of them to be a success in order to go up, not just some.

Got to admit I was worried about how slight TSL looked when we first got him, however been really impressed with him. Fleming has had a couple of decent games but was really poor at Walsall and (imo) slows play down

TLT regularly posts photos in a Rovers kit on his socials, and i see some Rovers kids got his signed gloves for Christmas. I don't recall anyone ever remaining that connected with a club they were at for such a brief time, seems a great bloke. Agree that if TSL stays fit and here for the season that position is least of our worries though.
