Poor blokes just been diagnosed with stage 2 vascular dementia! Always seemed a top guy and a decent footballer, I remember we were linked with him at one stage towards the end of his career.

He xapered about like a comic, remember him showing his bum to us at a throw in, then away at Bradford they scored he got the ball from back of Net and shoved it up his shirt making out he was about to give birth, all the best Dean.

I recall him always pointing at his head and the goal on every corner away at Bradford due to all the pie chants we sent his way. Don’t mind players like him, takes abuse and gives it back!

Thought for a minute he was going to be our ‘statement signing’. Terrible thing and wish him all the best - always seemed like a decent, down to earth bloke.

Can you really imagine Dean as a copper? On the field he was a loveable rogue who got lots of stick from opposition fans but we would all love him in our side. All the best Dean.

Sad news. I always liked Dean and wished he played for Rovers. A great player.

I think that he’s the only player to get banned for an offence against the referee in the car park after a game.
He got a five match ban after verbally abusing Darren Drysdale in the car park after a home game.

He was what we all loved a footballer to be, charismatic, gave it to the away fans, fun and decent player.
I remember being at Valley Parade, Bradford get a corner just after half time, Windass is getting stick about his size, then a pie hits him on the side of the face. Does he moan and complain, oh no he picks up the pie and eats it. Brilliant.
Then there was his screamer at Wembley for Hull in the play off final to win the game.
