The ref today
« on January 12, 2025, 05:07:23 pm by Fal »
What the hell was that performance from him? Thought he was a decent ref but that was such a poor refereeing performance.

He seemed to be giving decisions based on whoever shouted the loudest and changed his mind many a time.

Plus that linesman in front of our fans barely kept up with play!

Their goal came from a throw in which was ours but given to them Lino inches away

Ref was inconsistent with Yellow Cards at least 3 of ours were poor , and I include the one given to TSL which I was as sure as hell would be a Red 'un

Edit ... also got hit by ball twice , let one through his legs and almost got hit a third time

Poor display 2

Very inconsistent. First half Sterry was going to counter attack their player deliberately pulled his shirt. No card. At this point I said he can't book anyone now. Then proceeded to book half the team later on. Apparently he's on for the premier league so at least all major decisions can be reviewed.

We’ve had him before I think and he was good. Might have been the play off semifinal at Crewe last season?

Very inconsistent today with the bookings. Was it 7 for us and 2 for them? Let a lot of trips, pushes and shirt pulls go for them but flashed immediate yellows when our lads did the same.

Still… b*llocks to it. We won.

I think he was pretty good today,a couple of small errors, but good in the main, better than most we've had this season, I think the linesman was poor, shirt pulling and wrong throw-in decisions right under his nose, but did'nt want to get involved.

Plus two missed offsides early on right in front of us.

Don't actually think the ball went out but it should have been our throw if it did and he was very poor assisted by the useless ginger linesman

What about when we were in possession after Broadbent shot hit their lad on the head? Ref rightly stopped play but then did he not give them a goal kick??

That was you near the front berating him then was it!!

He was poor. You can tell when refs are guessing and he was a lot. TSL should have been sent off and potentially Jay. Their players were clean through both times.

No Gaz, I was in Row M berating him with about 1000 others (not all in Row M by the way).

Correct re TSL. Bizarre how late he made the decision again though

He gave a drop ball but let them have possession - baffling!

yeah drop ball because it happened inside the box but that would then open things up to anybody heading and going down holding there head, the ball was about to be collected by a sterry I think and he blew before any of our players touched it however it was just about  to land at a rovers player feet then should of halted play

Can’t expect much from the ref given his dad’s genes. Apples don’t fall far from the tree.

Watching the TSL yellow card incident back. I don’t even think it was a free kick. I don’t think there was contact. Their player moved to the left and fell over. I don’t know why as he could have got his shot away.

I was sat in the east stand at the opposite end to our fans. The through ball immediately before the TSL incident was 2 metres offside absolutely no argument. I did think though that TSL should have walked. I thought that we were very fortunate.

Yes, I'm surprised the offside hasn't been mentioned at all.  I know offsides can be difficult to call from the stands but from the camera angle it looked as you say a good couple of yards off.

If Moly had gone down in the box (their defender had his hands all over him) instead of going on to shoot & score that ref would have given a penalty?

I’m dubious.
