I think these 2 are good enough to play in the championship.

Both were very good today, with Olowu the MoM for me.
I loved the way Jay ran to us after the shootout whilst sticking out his tongue and beaming a big smile at the Hull fans.

Both were superb. They can certainly play at a higher level just need to keep the concentration and cut out the silly errors, although Olowu has improved no end in this department. I always think the Wrexham home game last season was the turning point for him. Still has mullin in his pocket somewhere

He would probably be our best signing for next season. And he does seem to have a genuine connection with the fans.

We don't know what their best is yet. They are both young centre halves and improving.

Good performances by both from what I have seen.... would like to have seen a new contract offer in place on Olowu already.... he has developed into an excellent player and is probably too good for league 2.

Did well especially considering they were walking a disciplinary tightrope for the majority of the game. Hull were dogshit tbf especially after Vaughan went off

Olowu's agent will have a big say whether he is with us or not next season, he will want him to move on, it is how they make their money.

I’m sure Olowu will get offers from L1 and above. Not sure there is any incentive for him to stay.

Unfortunately I agree and not much Rovers can do. Oluwu has improved this last twelve months hugely.  It will be tough to keep him.  But if I was throwing money at any centre half it's McGrath for me, he'll go for big money if we keep him.

Need to get promoted to have any chance of keeping him

It’s no different to last year.
When you are one of the better sides in the league, you simply need to go up to keep most of your better players.

Moly signing was an exception. I’m sure going up we would have kept Haks, Craig and TLT

At the start of the start of the game, when McGrath ran over, he started singing along with the crowd.
It's so nice to have players who just get the fans, the sooner we get them two tied down to longer contracts, the better.

Today demonstrated to me who can play at the division above. Certainly all our back 4, Bailey, Molyneux, Street.

5 year contract with a big pay raise and minimum release clause. That should do it!!

Does an agent get a fee if he/she negotiates a player contract extension?

As a rule, yes.

Even if we go up I can see Olowu moving to a bigger club, he’s been exceptional this season. Hoping I’m wrong or at least as a parting gift he can leave us as a League One club.

You’d like to think a decent pay rise and reasonable release clause would keep them. Then again the agent may say you’ll get offers on a free but not with a 250-500k price tag and that will seal the deal. I’m sure we can pay as well as a lot of the L1 clubs for the right player.

Not sure defenders in L2 can command big money unless they’re doing it at 18 years old not 26 or whatever Olowu is.

Can’t let players who are improving rapidly, who you have spent years developing, get into the last year of their contract. Especially ones that you have had interest in previously.

Obviously contracts may have been offered previously and rejected but it screams of not knowing how good he was as recently as 5 months ago. McCann went into the season with Joe as the 4th choice remember.

There is something in that. We can complain about him not been tied down but he wasn’t 1st choice at all going into the season. I’m not sure if that’s the managers fault or a reasonable call given performances last season (some good some bad)

I’m kind of inclined to agree with the P’boro way of doing things and getting rid if you won’t extend in the summer before the last season. Obviously you’d only do it for certain players of value but we can’t afford to let good players walk out for nothing.

I'm not convinced he is going. He seems to have a real connection with the fans here, only McGrath tops him for that.

He has been here through the tough times, I think he will stay for the better tines that are now on the way.

Agree with previous posters that the defence looked solid today and thought Maxwell played more like we know he can.

The two centre backs complement each other well and were the stand out performers.

I rate TSL too.

Playing a better class of team today, and no recriminations , but no clean sheet and we switched off for their goal and they had more joy attacking our left side second half than the right in the first half, a direct pass through the lines and slow when the ball came off the post, hard yes but no clean sheet.
It was a poor goal to give away, and for once we carried some luck, they missed some easy chances and our keeper pulled off two terrific saves. shoulda, coulda, woulda, yes we have been there, hard luck we win.
We battled and scrambled and it came off for us, we deserved a bit of luck, and could point to we could have had a penalty, and they will point to our keeper should have been sent off, it's football and the result is everything.

I thought Maxwell had a bit of a torrid time today, his passing & 1st touch were awful although he did get better as the game went on.

That’s how I saw his game today.
