on such a calm and composed finish. The difference maker today and he has been on numerous occasions this season.

Our best player by a distance.

Makes a change having street on the opposite side, they are worried about him aswell which means moles has more space.

Think a lot of teams worked out that Gibson wasn’t much of a threat so they always concentrated on mols.

He has had another good game, he has been having a bit of a slump recently, maybe this marks a turn round for him.

I've been a massive critic of him since Sept / Oct when the output just fell away, last week at Hull and again today he produced two great finishes under pressure, on and off the ball very good indeed, well done Mols  :scarf:

He did have a mini drop off. But that’s only because he’d set his standards so high. If you think about the season as a whole, he’s carried us to a certain extent. I dread to think where we’d be without his goals and assists.

Brilliant finish. At first I thought he'd lobbed it over but perfect. Against the run of play according to the stats but who needs heat maps, touches in the box and XG when the only stat that counts is the scoreline? That'll do me.

He seemed to get more space today, possibly because the whole team seemed to play with more imagination, greater mobility, looking for the ball, wanting to get involved.

That is exactly what happened last season when Haks came in.

I thought we were extremely poor in the first half, and average but better in the second.

Mentions for Moly, Bailey, Sbarra, Sterry and Owulu, but my MOTM goes to Teddy, kept us in the first half with numerous saves.

It’s not quite clicking yet, but the work ethic of the team is very good and pulling us through.

Similarish to the Hull goal. Came in from right to the centre after seizing on uncertainty, then a canny finish.

Just realised the chip over the keeper was with his wrong foot, which makes it even more impressive

With his body position as he took the ball and advanced, it was almost certain that he'd have to use his right foot.

That would have concerned me a couple of seasons ago, but he's now improved considerably with that foot. He scored at Port Vale with it, and has chipped several crosses in from behind the defender this season on the right.

His overall game has improved no end.

Freepress talks about the stick he got and how it effected him. It shows you what harm it can do.

Doing himself out of a move to higher leagues saying that.

Why?

He mentioned it effected him, he has dealt with it, got stronger and is a great player.

Just because a problem bothers you once doesn't mean it does again in the same way. His resilience will be a lot stronger now.

So I really don't agree.

All we all do everyday is up our resilience to life, in what ever way shape or form that looks like.

I’m sure before you have said he is fairly average for this level based on his stats.

So why would anyone from a higher league want him?

Why would you be on social media in the first place if any negativity affects you? If it happens one (when there essentially hasn’t been any), it will happen again. About two months ago he was being lauded and handed the keys to the Salutation! How can the belief in himself change in 2 months?

Teams sign players that prove not good enough for the level they are playing at very very often!

When you say any negativity. We don't know how bad it was.

You are deluded if you think it doesn't effect anyone.

Its how resilient we are to move on

If it's that's bad where it's affecting his confidence or mental health then he needs to come off social media, or at least the management and club should strongly advise it.
As Gaz said, he was on cloud 9 with all the Sal stuff so he's got to accept that there will be helmets spouting b*llocks about him on twitter (or here if he reads this) when he's bang average for half a dozen games

I wish this generation would toughen up and not live their lives for Internet likes.

Do you see Joe Ironside on twitter? Shit like this won't bother him because he's not glued to his phone waiting for likes.

Obviously we disagree. That's fine. You don't have to be glued to your phone to be on social media.

People are different and you have to deal with people differently.

1. Why should he come off and 2. He obviouly has enough resilience to get over it. Challenge the idiots not him for being on it.

Challenge the idiots? Bloody hell you'd be on your phone even more and that exposure is what fuels these arsehole trolls.
There's a couple on here that are similar and they love it.

I'm.glad he seems to have to got on top of it and out the other side. Hopefully he will learn to just ignore and block the idiots.

A quality goal from a quality player. As Motty once said.

I thought it’s a golden chance but oh no it’s on his right foot. Then I thought oh no it’s too long.

But no, it was absolutely bloody perfect.

I think we have to admire how he bounces  back when things don't go well. Same last season when he lost his way for a time. He tries different things, rather than being that one trick pony. He digs in when not getting much joy by doing his defensive stuff. There aren't many forward players who maintain a constant stream of goals so as sportsman we wonder why things dry up for periods when simple things become difficult, often over thinking things. I guess he's no different and when he's in the zone, there aren't many better finishers. He manages to get into some great positions to score.

I recall you posting something along the lines of ‘I could get better for less (wages?). He’s a run of the mill league two player.’

I respect the man/woman who holds their hands up & admits they were way off beam.

Did yours ever go up?

There is zero doubt he's a good league 2 player with good strengths and a keen eye for goal. He has his limitations aswell and it's fair for Gazlaz to say that on this forum (although I disagree he's an average player at this level, he's better than that).  Ultimately what is correct is that to play Championship/Premier league level your mentality has to be the top aswell.  It's such a high level with high profile that mental toughness is probably above technical ability in terms of importance.

I'm a massive fan of Molyneux for us and my left footed lad loves him.  He's sometimes his own worst enemy because he can be so good for a while that people expect it every week.  He'd be 2 leagues above if he did that.  What he never stops doing is the hard stuff, he's always tracking back etc regardless of how well his attacking play is.  Some others could learn a lot from that.
