I'd go the same side as Barrow. Maybe Street in for Ennis if we want to stretch them a bit more, but didn't think Ennis did much wrong on Wednesday. Other than that I thought we looked better so I'd try and build a bit of consistency now, too much chopping and changing can't be helping - on 'the run' last year it felt like we'd found a formula and stuck to it, up til now this season I'd struggle to guess five or six of the starters every week. Got to find that core again.

While he hasn’t particularly caught the eye yet, I think Ennis adds good balance to the attack and will grow in to it.
He’s quicker and more direct than Gibson but physically stronger than Hurst.
Why we didn’t sign someone of his profile permanently in the summer, I do not know.

Ironside worked hard and was tidy on the ball against Barrow but I wonder if Rob Street’s athleticism might be useful in pressing / counterattacking against a possession based team.
We haven’t seen him play centre forward yet, despite that being his main position throughout his career.

Grant will know best though. He did the double over Scott Lindsey’s Crawley side last year. The full squad will need to be used for 6 games in the next 3 and a half weeks.
we are a far superior side when Joe plays. It’s plain to see. Yes his goal return isn’t what it could be but our play needs a striker like him. He helps us get up the pitch.
He should be one of the first names on the team sheet for the rest of the season for me. So underrated.

I presume you mean Ironside and not Olowu. Definitely the last on the list for me, and then only if he wins the toss against Billy. Only good for getting offside and having a wrestle with a centre half, which he loses and gives away a foul.

A great game to be had tomorrow, 3-0 for me!

I’d have slightly more respect for the Milton Keynes club if they got rid of the ‘Dons’ bit of their name. It’s meaningless to them but means a lot to the heritage of AFC Wimbledon and its fans, not to mention our own ‘Dons’ of course, and Aberdeen! I say this on here every time we play them, sorry.

I used to get mildly annoyed when we played PNE and their local newspaper reporter invariably called Rovers “The Dons”.

Trevor Kettles son is the referee, his last and only other game for us was the 1-0 defeat to Bromley.

Whatever our record is with the Referee and MK Dons in the past, we need the three points and to back up our last home game win, and need to go for it.

You were in our seats!!
At the drop off Arthur said pick up same place, Pick up got changed unbeknown to us me my girlfriend and her brother. Arriving at the original pick up we hung around a while and decided to walk back into Torquay , not long after along came the bus. It stopped and we got on. As you said people had been picked up and were asked by the big lads to vacate the seats seeing as we were the paying customer, was that you?
There was ar least one spare seat as The Vicar didn't make the journey back, a large bunch of bananas and the boys in blue wete involved

We were on the bus mate but not in the seats.
Because we were rough sleeping over Thursday and Friday night we had taken a sleeping bag each and as it was a night trip home we just got in the sleeping bags on the aisle floor and caught up with a bit of sleep. Most people slept on the way home so we were just grateful for the ride and weren’t bothered about a seat.

If I was Gibson looking at Street snd Ennis playing in front of me I’d be shaking my head. Street looks a grafter and has pace but he’s shown zero quality. You need creativity as a wide man, that’s not his game.

Ennis looks like a player but he’s green as grass and learning the trade with us. Gibson was the best winger in the league (along with Moly) a few months ago, and he only signed him 6 months ago. No need to replace him in January is there, unless he was wrong on both counts.

Gaz, genuine question, have you watch the same team as me? Gibson has the potential quality sure but he could never beat the first man and opposition teams weren’t worried about him.

I’ve said on other threads was the reason Moly was so poor in nov/dec was due to the teams specifically targeting him putting two men on at all times. Gibson couldn’t provide a similar threat on the other side to take the pressure off hence the reason Ennis and street were signed.

It’s no wonder Moly is now scoring again as he they are now worrying about the other wing aswell.

One of the reasons why Moly “runs into traffic” is because he almost invariably heads inwards where the defenders position themselves naturally rather than varying it by going on the outside.

Moly, by his own and Grants admission, played poor in that period because his head had gone and he was feeling the pressure of getting stick. Nothing to do with Gibson!

Just hit me.

I live in Tring, 20 miles from MK,  so have a Hemel post code.

I should have gone to MK and got on one of their coaches

You might not have been popular on the way home though, difficult to suppress a grin for that long a journey!

Sbarra, Hurst, Nixon, Senior and Westbrooke not in squad today. Close out on loan. Wood injured. Seven senior players not involved at all. That's quite a lot of the wage bill not even turning up in their kit today.

They’ve gone extremely attacking. They want to play perfect expansive football in league 2 despite not being very good.

4-2 Rovers and finally an entertaining Saturday afternoon home game for Scawsby Steve.

They're so poor when pressed it's funny.

Not especially good away form and quite leaky. Only four sides have conceded more than them away from home in the league this season. On a poor run of form generally, only two wins in ten in the league. They’ve scored in their last eight consecutive away league games though, so we may end up conceding here.

The other fact worth noting is that since they stole their club we have played them eight times at home and we are yet to lose - four wins and four draws. They’ve never actually managed to score more than one goal in any home game against us.

Pleasingly this run continues and is pretty poor. It was actually worse than I originally calculated.

Since the theft of their club from someone else, they have played us at either Belle Vue or Keepmoat / Eco Power a total of ten times, dating back to December 2004. They have lost five times and drawn five times. Drawn a blank four times and still never scored more than one in a game.

Great finish from Street. A good bit of quality there, I thought he was good off the bench.

I thought Ennis was very good first half and how he wasn’t awarded a penalty I don’t know. Kelly covered every blade of grass and nearly scored. Sterry was magnificent!

Street looked off side to me from the west stand, however I wasn’t anywhere near level, one hell of a finish by the lad !

Looks like he needs to play as a 9 to me. He’s not a winger. No surprise they scored down that side just after he came on.

Really enjoyable game.
I do enjoy a División 4 side passing it around at the back, providing it’s not us. Lo and behold they gift us a goalden chance, did Joe pull the defender back a little? Don’t care.
Back 4 immense, Olowu was something else today (never thought I’d say that pre Wrexham last year). Sterry! How quick is he? He’s kept that quiet. Maxwell ramping up to his rampaging best. McGrath, well is just McGrath he’ll head anything including Joe Ironside during the first goal celebration.
This back line up is now a constant.
Midfield is starting to look full of energy and fight, bet they can’t wait for Monday to get working together again.
Up top Joe had an epic battle today with his marker and got the goal that will start his run.
Then the subs come on and make the sort of difference we’ve envied in our opponents in the recent past
That 2nd half was probably the best we’ve played at home.
Well done Rovers. We want 5.

Best game of the season to watch, two teams trying to win the game.
I said in an earlier post on here that the expansive attacking game that MKD play would be beneficial to us and so it proved to be the case.
Rovers showed that they can be a very good pressing and attacking side and with a little bit of luck could have ended up with four or five goals today, the Dons keeper making several really good saves.
There should now be plenty of belief going through the squad and promotion is in our own hands.

Not really much to do with Street their goal.
Maxwell and McGrath made a mess of it, all goals come from somewhere on the pitch. That goal can’t be used against him at all.

I thought because he was out of shape, Maxwell had to go up one to press, which dragged Jay over and left the huge gap for a deep runner, but what do I know.
