It’s not only the players in the first team squad that can avail themselves of such luxury.

My second wife’s nephew was on Man Utd’s books from the age of eight (he’s a Burnley boy). The amount of training gear kicking around their house that had been ‘dished out’ to him by Utd beggars belief. I counted (bear in mind we’re talking about an 8/9 year old here) six pairs of boots when shown into his room. Plus gawd knows how many sets of tops & track suits he had courtesy of them.

More than I’ve ever had throughout my own illustrious career in total!

He jacked in Man Utd of his own volition (they didn’t want the gear back obviously) & is currently at 12, in Burnley’s academy set up. More kit.

I’ll wait until Real Madrid take an interest before ‘muscling in’!
