With Sam, Will and Bobby all involved and two mates at the Darlington and Peterborough Sports games while I took in Buxton's between us we had all three players covered and it was nice to see other well known Rovers supporters also at Buxton to see Bobby's game on a free weekend for the mighty reds.
Sam Brown is still a second year Scholar already on a pro contract to follow, and playing at National League North level and holding his own is a big feather in his cap in a mans league that is very competitive physical and with different styles of play to overcome,  from the modern keep ball to the throw back long ball game, and no player is going to be given a lot of time on the ball, and they at some time are going to come up against the dark arts experienced players build up over time. In my opinion young players like our lads could not be in a better place to learn their trade, it having a far more competitive edge to it than u21s academy football, and is quite a few notches up in class.
So lots to benefit all three lads who have knuckled down and are flourishing in the environment.
On to Sam's game away at Marine who have improved over the season but do play a long ball game, as Peterborough do to an extent so not great for a young midfielder to get on the ball a lot but what he did my mate reported he did well, looked composed on the ball, played a couple of great balls through the Marine defence that caused their defence problems and showed his good close control when challenged. He is strong bodily for one so young and stood up to challengers well, and also has a burst of pace and doesn't look out of place at this level at all, well done Sam impressive.
Will Flint is at the moment playing in a Darlington side with a small squad racked by injury of some of their best and experienced players. Always a problem for some of the less off clubs in non league, and being part time with some clubs in the league full time, a big advantage, and coming off the slog of a game at Alfreton I went to Tuesday to watch Will not surprising the players are feeling it.
Will to his credit has hardly missed a minute all season, has won monthly and MOM awards for his play on a number of occasions and might be feeling it a bit, home games played on a rugby pitch and not the best and heavy when wet, so great football at a premium.
He as always was technically very good yesterday, did his thing defending his back line, picking passes out of trouble playing the easy ball early and putting a foot in when required, things that a lot of the time go unnoticed by lots of supporters but important to the team in every aspect.
Not his greatest stand out game of the season but not poor, the sign of a very good player when they are a six to seven  a game man when not quite at their best in a team that is also a bit off it.
So it again is a well done for sticking at it and getting that point from a draw when not at their best and to Will for showing he can battle when conditions are against playing fantastic football he has a great future in front of him.
Bobby Faulkner, speaking to the supporters from Doncaster after the game who had taken the day off in the EFL to go and support and watch him, they were just as impressed with him as I was and scouts watching must have been, he effects games, is a great defender, has improved massively  technically, has developed his passing game, and has pace to burn for a big lad and dominates in the air defending corners and free kicks into the area despite being under pressure.
Up against a 6ft 7ins striker who has dominated areal battles according to Kings Lynn supporters, after being beaten in the first few minutes I thought he would have his hands full but after that he completely dominated him so much so he was subbed, replaced by Margitts, a renowned goal scorer who had the same result completely dominated losing out by yards in any foot races, and although ending up on the losing side due to missed chances and going down to ten men he kept up his excellent form and when Buxton were after an equalising  goal was pushed forward and was a hand full at centre forward setting up a chance that was well saved, well done again Bobby.

Did Rovers have any scouts or staff at the game as far as you could see Brian?

Thanks for posting these updates
Are the young lads still training with Rovers throughout the week?

Copps was at the Darlington v Buxton game when both played a couple of months ago and I thought with no mid week game last Tuesday and no match today they would have been at the Alfreton v Darlington last Tuesday and Buxton today but no and I asked at both as I signed in, Jay McGrath was there supporting his dad's and mates side though to his credit. There was eight scouts from different levels EFL and National league clubs in attendance though including two division 2 clubs and one division 1 club.
To be fair I think that the loan clubs will correspond with the club, and report on their form as well as provide video coverage for analytical purposes and gives the club more chance to scout other players  visually who we have no connection with but thoughts of maybe going in for them.
As for training Will might be now injured himself so could miss a few games and Sam train at Cantley mainly with the u18s Bobby being at a full time club trains with Buxton and at a private Gym in Doncaster. All are dedicated athletes and it shows in their attitude and concentration to succeed.
Of course Grant has other things on his mind and to spend time on at the moment in his personal life, much more important than following players out on loan at this sad part of his life, I wish him well.

Jonno Margetts probably knew alot about Bobby Faulkner before coming on, he worked for Rovers in the Academy for a couple of years as well

He was his physio when injured and recovering from an operation on his foot German Rover.
Raven rover it means I don't go through the same gate as you to enter the stadium and have to sign in.

Selby, it's good to hear how these players are doing, but any chance you could consolidate these updates on a single thread (like the one someone started to chart how ex-players were getting on), rather than starting a new one every single time one of them plays a match? Would be much easier to follow.

we could of not been made more welcome   thanked us over the tannoy system for coming, applauded us as we left the stadium
Ex Rover Tyler Roberts  was star man in the coasters 3-0 victory
Adam Long came on as sub   and Brandon Fleming was on the bench for Forest Green   managed by Steve Cooterill
great ground to visit if you get chance
