Looks like we'll be wearing a bit of a retro look on Saturday. Quite like it.

What a ridiculous decision to switch to that god awful 80s Cusack-era Rotherhamesque shirt for this important game. This isn't an exhibition match. It's a vital 6 pointer against a potential auto-places promotion rival.  Routine should have been the watch word.

I really agree with this. Don’t feel it’s the best decision the club has ever made

It’s a ditto from me too.

As you know Rob said the same about it giving me Dave Cusack nightmares.
I started going infrequently back then, thre wasn't much fun until Bremner came back a couple of seasons after Cusack.

Channel Neville Chamberlains opening day hat trick mate, possibly the only high of that season ( maybe Billy Stubbs scoring too? Was that the same year?)

Confident of a win here mush. It’s the Salford game I view as the possible banana skin on our run in.

Rwminds me of quite a few years ago, when we were on a great run with the Championship play offs in sight, I wrote to the club expressing the very same things after the club announced it was going to wear a charity shirt (maybe the first time we'd done it). The club wrote back explaining all the benefits to the charity, the people involved and the amount of money going to the good cause to support people alot less fortunate. Basically making me feel like a short sighted chump that I was).

We went on to win the game and later, when we went back to the Red and White hoops, we got beat by Plymouth.

I think Chamberlain got his hat trick against Preston, but it was the same season.
That was my first season watching Rovers

I have to say the change in shirt doesn’t bother me, plus it will have been planned for months, to get them made, and also to get permission from the EFL to use a different kit?

Neufville on the right is pacey and direct, could cause us issues.

Bugiel isn't a goalscorer but is a good player.
He bullied us last time, Big Tom should sort him out this time.

The number 10 Hokey Cokey continues. Would rather see McGrath start than Wood but in McCann we trust. Glad to see Street back in.

Doesn't matter how many games sharps ban is he shouldn't play again. Thanks for the memories but that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Don't know if we would have gone on to win the game with him. Not been good enough the second half of the season anyway

Port Vale and Walsall can both pull further ahead when they play. And if we don't win on Tuesday the autos are gone.
Suddenly feel a whole lot sicker. No thanks to Sharp. One minute on the pitch, unbelievable.

They are not in amazing form. Three wins in their last ten games. Their away form really isn’t great. Two wins in their last ten away games and they were single goal victories against poor sides in Carlisle and Newport. They don’t lose that many away though, so a draw looks fairly likely.

Yep.

We played the same again and two wingers today who both marked out the game. Wanted to come inside use their left foot Molynuew and right foot Gibson both were very poor. Midfield that passed the ball majority sideways and backwards. Clifton had 1 shot the others that replaced him Sbarra nice passing back to defenders or sideways Kelly runs with the ball down blind alleys. Best midfielder was Broadbent. Street runs after the ball but he’s on his own most of the time. Ironside slow and again not getting through or passed Wimbledon players. Sterry shot scored that was a novelty is was on goal at pace took a defection but we as going on goal. Grant your ideas are the same every game when will you tell Molyneux and Gibson to try and swap wings when will you ask them to get to the bye line and put in good crosses Another game where we look stale and not forward thinking.

Said we needed a strong ref, unfortunately we didn’t get one the only decisions he got right were the sending offs - let them dictate the time keeping - how the f was there only 3 minutes first half it took longer than that for their player to finally leave the field then the keeper went down, plus all the time wasting

Wimbledon were clever. Everytime they had a goal kick one of them was in the ref’s ear distracting him while the keeper blatantly wasted time
There is some horrible football in league two

We can talk about the ref we can talk about Wimbledons tactics but they did have pace and strength. We drew the game because our game plan wasn’t good enough the attacking players in midfield and up front were not clever or good enough. We don’t get into the autos we will not do well in the playoffs teams know how we play and nullify what are supposed to be our best players

I actually thought he was ok for me only thing was he let keeper get away holding onto the ball in his hands for too long, for me he got most decisions correct in clouding the 2 sendings off,had far worse this season
