I don't like them. Feels like it was set up to destabilise The Rovers fan base and also some kind of dodgy scheme by you know who.
Can't see them getting to national league north as the fan base isn't there, especially if they are to move to Bawtry.
They have bought 2 promotions and made a mockery of their match against Dearne last season by bringing 3 or 4 ex football league players for that one match.

Saturday. They’ll be in same division as Armthorpe next year. North Counties East first division. 6/7 below us I think.

They weren't promoted last season... they forgot/chose not to apply to go up, so instead moved sideways from one Step 11 league to another (Central Midlands North to Sheffield County Senior).

The one positive I'd say for them is that they've probably helped to keep Armthorpe afloat through money they'll have paid for ground hire/clubhouse takings. But otherwise, what Nudga says. It still seems an odd venture – there were plenty of existing amateur clubs in Doncaster crying out for support/backing so why start a new one up?

For the name, Doncaster is more glamorous than Rossington, Thorne, Askern or Armthorpe. Then to be able to now use the City part adds to that glamour.

Agreed on all the above, seems like a destabilisation project, I’m always interested in the politics of football so I’m curious as to who is willing to spend £55million on an elite training centre? If it goes ahead it would dwarf cantley (a slight jealousy I admit if you compare the two)

It feels like it may be a good way to hide money, or some kind of tax evasion scam. The fact it hurts the club is a bonus I would assume to the main people involved. Might be wrong I don’t know the people involved and they would surely not drop to such low standards.

I hate wishing ill of anyone or thing, but I cannot find it within me to wish them well. We are, and should remain a one club city.

Always the same person bringing them up on this forum, with very little other activity in the forum - sorry if I have you wrong.

Fair responses, I always bring them up as I feel they could become an issue in the future, in what capacity I’m not sure yet, purely intrigued with the drama of it all.no hidden agenda.

Looks more and more likely they’ll be a further division below us next season too..

Remember when they were going to build a tennis complex there that would also include others sports.
