He’s not going to get game time at Leeds, I’d be looking to get him on a season long loan next season

I said this earlier in the week after his performance on Monday.  If Leeds are serious about his development then there's no better place for him than with McCann

Wonder if it’s worth a cheeky bid now Leeds have gone up, they don’t even know who’s gonna be their manager never mind their long term youth development goals.

Technically you can tell he is destined for a higher level it’s just the physical side he needs to improve on but that will come with games etc. kinda fortunate how the cards fell really with our centre backs being out so Bailey dropped back in there leaving a space open in the middle for him to step into. Took his opportunity with both hands on this little run

Honestly think it might have been playoffs if we didn’t get the midfield right in the run in

That pass in the first half with the outside of his right boot was sublime. Even commentator was creaming over it

Star in the making. You can see the quality in his passing and finding space . Would love to see him back next season.

I thought he was sensational first half yesterday. Best player on the pitch. He’s such a positive presser I think he makes us better as a team without the ball.

The only problem I can see with that is when the International call-up’s come round!

If we get the chance to get Charlie, I wouldn’t mind the international call ups. In a way surely playing for his country is likely to improve him more, so would look at the positives those would bring.

He pressed a lot yesterday and noticed he went in with many sliding tackles, but they were controlled no rash challenging, and he won lots of balls. His passing was excellent, and yesterday it seemed like we got a performance that we expected from those early games.

I presume Grant identified an issue in training, not sure what, but if the lad takes a positive from being here with our current coaching team, then presumably he would be up for another loan.

Makes you wonder if Grant was keeping Crew fresh & hungry for the run in. If he was, genius.

We may be able to bid for him and have a sell on clause installed to safeguard Leeds... ?

Fingers crossed Leeds release him with their focus on only buying in foreign talent in the cheats league. Charlie, you will always be welcome at Donny!

They gave him a 4yr deal last yr. He is well thought of at Leeds and Wales. Chance of a season long loan but that's it.....that said I'm not sure he was to impressed at the run of games he wasn't playing so he might not want to come back.

Hopefully he does because he will be a great player and continue to improve with age/experience.

He fits the bill of how we want to play. Even with the couple of mistakes, he was trying to do the right thing and held his hand up to his team mates. Still a talent that needs to be nurtured and League One would be great for him. Now, I wouldn't burden him with playing every minute of a 46 game season so we must explore other options in the midfield to cope with the step up.

Obviously, he and Leeds will have the biggest say in all this and you wonder if Leeds will whop another premium on his loan fee.

It’s a very fine line between taking an extra split second to compose yourself to make a pass or go past a man and taking an extra split second when there isn’t one to be had and losing a ball in a dangerous position.
When he gets that sorted he can go on to have a career at a high level.
For a young player he has so much awareness.

I think he, TSL & Rob Street will have enjoyed their time here & days like yesterday will be in their memory banks for a long time to come.

Leeds paid £1m+ for him they'll want him developed. Feels like a league 1 loan is his next step.  He's got a lot of improvement in him but he reminds me of Brian Stock.  He'll be very good in a couple of years.

Physical side really? Did you not see that 50/50 he won staying on his feet also?! Agree about Bailey dropping into defence though , as you say it inadvertently did us a massive favour.
