The spine of the team

Footballing hyperbole I know, but for me this run in has depended heavily on the backbone of the team: TSL-Anderson-Broadbent-Street.

Everyone's played well, but Anderson and Broadbent have just been so solidly consistent and Street and TSL have won us games.

Think you're doing a disservice to Bailey there not including him in that, otherwise I agree.

Anderson and Bailey keep it simple keep the game in front of you and nothing flash, and our goals against is much better. Now we need a left back

You don’t rate the two we have got for that position?

We have the best left back in this division, if he remains fit

Think I’m with selby on this one. Senior is an excellent squad player but don’t think he’s good enough to be a starting League One left back. On ability alone Maxwell probably is but he seems to be made of cobwebs and tissue paper. I’m also concerned that all the injuries have impacted him given he has been pretty below par when he has been fit this season. With both of them contracted, though, I imagine we’ll have other priorities.

IDM no, They are ok ish to me but they both get run at because of lack of pace, and get beaten both on the outside and inside slow on the turn.  Saturday Maxwell got taken on the outside and brought his man down giving away the penalty, we got away with it luckily.
Go back on the highlights we have conceded a lot of goals right wingers taking both on and look who are in the frame on many occasions during this season and we step up next season.

Yes, I think Maxwell needs to sort any remaining injury problems out, as he's lost  that zip in his game. We’ve seen precious little of those surging runs he's capable of with the potential for good crosses, shots and passes on the end of them. You're right in that he's struggled to keep up defensively, looking like he was knackered at times.

Senior has the physicality and determination but as yet, lacks the end product Maxwell has. That may come with more development. If either aren't on it, then by the time next season comes, McCanns got some thinking to do.

Maxwell is obviously not 100% at the moment. Give him a good off season and he should be quality in L1 provided he stays fit.
