Mr consistency

A few words about Captain fantastic; Owen Bailey is a machine so consistent never less than a 7 out of 10 performance, always available he never misses a game. He’s a good age at 26 with his best years ahead of him, add to that his versatility able to play at the back, the right of a back 3 or scrapping in midfield.

Just watched the video of GM’s post match speech to the players in the dressing room. Just watch Owen Bailey, he’s absolutely buzzing. Defo appears he’s loving it here.

Absolutely fantastic player and captain.

His reading of the game at CB is superb , he has a great temperament and leads by example. The partnership with Anderson has been outstanding and both compliment each other's game very well.

I honestly think he is better at CB and we should look to converting him to a CB permanently.

I'm inclined to agree with this , No disrespect to Bailey or Broadbent I don't think they work well together in midfield, it's 1 or the other as CDM for me. Crew was a prime example of what's needed from a cm yesterday, his pressing and energy out of possession was top drawer

I agree he is better at CB but as a CB does he keep Olowu out the team? I don’t think so. I’d have him in midfield over Broadbent every day of the week though.

Broadbent has been good this season and steadily improving, hopefully this can continue. Sterry, Molyneux & Olowu have raised their games this season so no reason why Broadbent can't push on further along with Gibson next season.

To echo the above, I think Broadbent has been one of our better players during the run-in. At 24, we should be looking at seeing the best of him over the next few seasons.

Some good comments on some really good players.
Despite seeing every game on R+, Jamie Sterry has been absolute class.
Last game I saw live was Notts County away last season, and in that absolute debacle of a performance, Sterry even then was the only player in red and white that looked like a footballer.
So pleased some of the others have caught him up.
Our cleverest and classiest player…

Agreed.  I think Sterry, Mols and Bailey in that order  are our best 3 players, or more accurately have been our best this season  That said, I expect a fully fit Maxwell to be in that mix next season and  even more hopefully a  newly contracted Olowu

That run in the 2nd half yesterday where Sterry turned into prime Cafu was something else!

There were lots more that have since changed their tune

Me? I could see a player in there, does the dirty work well

It was the same with Olowu

Can’t argue with that Jon.

Sterry has had a fabulous season and I think he will continue that form in League One.
Finally this season, his understanding with Moly has really shone.

Bailey is the sort of guy you’d want with you in the trenches.

You could tell yesterday they all wanted it, and everyone stepped up.  Bailey has been a revelation, amongst a team who don’t know when they are beat (Spirites fixtures aside..)

Didn’t Bailey have some pretty major injury issues before coming here, so much so that he was on a very short term deal almost for him to prove his fitness ? Don’t recall him ever being injured since.

Yeah, 17 months out with a knee injury.

Yeah I remember thinking he would be one of these that would disappear for weeks on end and never get going with a run in the team. Way off!
