Is that because they're rubbish?

I like that idea, but I think the only way it would happen if someone bought the shirts and put them on certain rows

Refuse collectors in Birmingham have been on strike for weeks - rubbish piling up in the streets.

Really? Haven't read about that at all, you would have thought it might have been mentioned somewhere, especially if they weren't collecting iron-based items. Irony items can be easily picked up with a magnet.

It’s hard to move on when your life was affected by the actions of the miners strike, some people were wrongly arrested and charged with serious crimes that weren’t removed from the records that would later not allow to apply for jobs that we were qualified to do.

There's a good documentary on Netflix about the Miner's strike that I watched recently, would certainly recommend it. As it was slightly before my time I only had a broad understanding of it, but hearing real life accounts and personal stories makes you realise how significant it was and why it still looms large with people today. It broke people, families, communities. People still have to live with the psychological wounds, lasting economic hardships and horror of how they were treated. And they are still waiting for a public inquiry into Orgreave which has been denied by successive governments for decades now. I think there is more to it than simply moving on.

Nudga started a thread a few weeks ago planning this, one of the suggestions on there was 'Where's Wally' which I think was a great shout, easy to do and keeps the red and white theme strong!

Anyone remember that match from around 1986 when we  played Notts County at Belle Vue. The atmosphere was venomous. The highlight for me was when County"s goalkeeper Ian Hesford charged out of his area and flattened Glenn Humphries just inside the County half. He then stormed off the pitch before the ref had chance to pull out the red card.  I think we won 2-1 that day. The same score, in our favour,  would do nicely on Saturday.
