Vaibhav Suryavanshi

My. God!

Cricket has just been reinvented. The kid is unreal. 14 years and 1 month old and he scores a century off 35 balls in the IPL.

11 sixes and 7 fours. So every other ball was a boundary! Against international quality bowlers.

I read that last night, 14 years old I was halfway through my first season of senior cricket, and not at that standard

And of that century 94 runs came in boundaries. Bloody hell. More than half balls in the innings went for boundaries....

My lad, a good player, once hit 4 sixes in 6 balls - but that was against village team bowlers....

Vaibhav is at it again now. Currently 51 off 17 balls.

edit: he just hit 30 in one over, now 94 off 34.

100 off 35. This kid is incredible.

He's at it again this week.

97 off 29 balls on Wednesday, and today a "measured and careful" 96 off 47 balls. And he's still only 15.

He must surely be the best striker of a ball in cricket history.

This was him on Wednesday

https://www.skysports.com/cricket/video/19508/13548488/vaibhav-sooryavanshi-15-year-old-just-misses-out-on-fastest-ever-ipl-century-with-immense-97-off-29-balls-in-eliminator

The inside-out shot over cover is just extraordinary striking.

Switched the game on just as he was caught on 97.
Irritating.

Actually, to correct my post, he's only just 15. 15 and 63 days, apparently

Watched some of his recent innings last night. The speed with which he picks the ball as it leaves the bowlers hand is beyond belief.hes playing against some of the very best fast bowlers in the world, chucking the thing down at 85+mph every ball. But to him it's like he's facing a beer bellied club trundler bowling military medium.

He is just so far superior to anyone who ever picked up a cricket bat it makes me wonder the longer term impact he will have on the game as a whole.  Perhaps when he gets exposed to the rigours and nuances of test cricket we may get some answers.

Just think when he gets his man strength at 21. Not looking forward to him terrorising us for the next 15+ years.

Come on mate, let’s not talk about the last 15+ years on here.
Leave it for the politics pages.

Agreed. I wonder if big baseball teams are looking at him. I could see him making a king's ransom over there.
