Losing our record?
« on April 30, 2025, 08:16:55 pm by chrisd_123 »
Just watching Blackpool v Birmingham and the commentator's just mentioned that Birmingham are going after a record for most wins in a season.

They're on 32 wins with one and a half games left. We hold the record with 33 from 1946/47.

Be a shame if we were to lose or share it! I guess we didn't need the amount of money Birmingham have spent to do it though. Moral high ground and all that!

Absolutely

Mind you, just for balance, we did lose 34 of 46 in 1997-98

Southampton currently are losing 79% of their games….

What a season Birmingham have had.

A new record points total for the Football League and still one game to play.

And Alfie May scored their second to take his tally to 16 for the season.
I don't know why it's not been mentioned on here previously but we should never have let him go.....

Someone on another page/thread mentioned that Alfie is on a 3 year contract at £16k a week at Birmingham, which is nearly £2.5 million. Better than getting up early and being on a building site for 7.30

Read somewhere it’s cost them around £275k per point. Stupid money in league 1

With his eight assists, Alfie is second in the L1 goal involvement stats too.

when Saints were around 10/1 ON for relegation i laid them as I was convinced in my wisdom they would win 3 games in a row and i would be in the money -- sadly they were not good dog walkers - every time they had a lead they let it slip through their fingers - they even did it against Fulham - some would say I was barking mad
