Personalised car number plates.
« on May 04, 2025, 08:16:49 pm by Usher wide. »
More money than sense most of them.

However I saw a cracker of a ‘bas**rdised’ plate on Peugeot on the M1 today.

WE14 UGH had become WE l4UGH.

Made me smile anyway.

I know a guy who knows the owner of this. That's  how I got these photos.

In America once I saw a licence plate that I absolutely knew belonged to an English guy. Yanks don't know the meaning of "b*llocks"....

I always wanted SH 1T for a car of mine. Banned sadly.

That must be a dodgy plate Raven.
I have an App on my phone which checks whether vehicles are taxed and tested and it comes up as vehicle not found.

Isn't that the one Jasper Carrott recounted in an early routine.

Sure I saw him do it around 1978 at The Gaumont.

Pay off line was something along the lines of an American woman asking what it meant and he replied it's our slang for zits and she came over here in February, walked into Boots asking for some cream for these b*****s here.

He does tell it better than I type it.

If it's dodgy, it's on a new looking Range Rover and as I say I see it regularly around where I live

SEA50N is on a five year old Kia Sportage.
TOW1E is on a four year old BMW X5.
A5ENA on an 8 year old Vauxhall Astra.
All three taxed and tested.

I’m guessing that 1089WW is an old one of yours or a family member Wolfie.
The area cars are in isn’t shown.
Sadly the one you asked about is shown as not found.
When I was a  young kid we didn’t have a car but my grandad did.
We went all over in that car, My dad driving, me on grandads knee on the front passenger seat and my mum, grandma and my brother in the back. No seatbelts either.
It was a 1936 model Ford, black with runner boards and big chrome headlamps on top of the front wheel guards. Spare wheel mounted on the back of the car.
I checked the Reg plate on the App I use most (I have two) and it is still on that car but it hasn’t been on the road since 1984.

I saw that plate in Wadworth a couple of times and I think it described the driver perfectly. I can remember being outside the pub near the church and a couple of lads who I was with remarking on it when they saw the driver.

Thanks for that Hound  , and it's the only Plate I would consider and did once

They wouldn't tell me if it was allocated or not , and it belonged on my Uncles Thames Trader Lorry.

A gleaming Red and Gold Cab , I have seen photos of it and remember it very well and rode in it many times

Would be great to get the Plate

Cheers jt

It’s obviously not on a vehicle right now but someone might have it on retention I suppose.
The first car I owned had a nice plate, SEE624, but that isn’t showing as on a vehicle.

There used to be one near where I lived, saw it regularly.  In the Irish format:

XOI108

Makes more sense when I saw it behind me, in the rear view mirror.

There was the other good one in Thorne

111UFC or of course MUFCwhen you move the 111 together

Not seen it for a while and Plate is maybe worth more than the actual MUFC now

It changed hands moving from Moorends to Thorne maybe 15 plus years ago. On to a very posh car and rumour has it he is supposed to have said the Plate is worth more than the Car it's on

Saw a H4XEY today as well

Last week I saw a very clever similar one but I'm buggered if I can remember where I was. I'll keep thinking

That car was first registered in 2010.

Just a thought Hound could the C be an O that's been adjusted by a strategically placed capped screw?

Good thinking Raven.
I did a check and the following came up:
BC51COW is on a 24 year old DAF LF55 truck but is not taxed or tested.
BC51CCW isn’t on a registered vehicle.
BO51CCW also isn’t registered.

A very smart white Range Rover driven by a very smart Asian lady near us has this personalised plate:

MO 54LLA

Whenever I see it I think she should ask a certain Liverpool footballer how much he’d pay for it.

On a similar theme I used to regularly see T17S DD on a blue MG TF in the early 2000s.

Looked reasonably accurate too.
