All the goals 24/25
« on May 10, 2025, 06:16:13 pm by jmt23 »
Just watching all the goals we scored in 24/25, and have to mention players who go without much praise week in week out ( this season)

Owen Bailey - some crackers
Gibbo- not just the goals some of his assists are sublime
Joe Ironside - hopefully when fit again he will be the player he was
Hursty! Easy to forget what he did and the talent he could be
Clifton - I said right from the off, he has something you cannot teach - he senses a space and goal opportunity.

I’m missing football already watching others ain’t the same.

Yes, some cracking goals from open play. Not many from set pieces.

Our set plays not an obvious strength.

Broadbent’s against Cheltenham was a cracker. Wish he’d shoot more!

He’s had 8 shots all season and that was the only one on target. All from outside the box bar one that was about a yard inside. 5 blocked, 2 wide and one goal.

12pc success rate with his shots. Would take that!

Great effort by the club to compile all that soon after the last game. Best saves compilation, best tackles, best blocked shots, woodwork hits.... Come on Rovers, gerrit sorted!

Clifton gets a bit of stick from some quarters for being a bit basic, but the lad knows where the net is! I watch the lads in shooting drills during the pre-game warm-up and Clifton looks one of the better finishers. Hoping he can make the step up next year.

However, the penalties we should have had will be a good one!

I said earlier un the season, his overall contribution was better than Biggins without being spectacular. He often leads the press, drops back to cover (one or two over zealous tackles mind) but he gets into some great positions to score from crosses and cut backs.

A feature of our game was the goals scored from Central areas by Mols, Gibson and Clifton which is a great sign they're encouraged to make those overloads and get into those positions of most opportunity. This is something we'll hopefully carry forward into League One.

Agree. Clifton certainly better than Biggins. Very good out of possession. Not great in possession but that’s pretty irrelevant playing central in a Grant McCann team.
