Chessie

Liam Mandeville gave a penalty away with a terribly mistimed tackle. 0-1.

Now 0-2. Looking like Walsall and Wombles for the final FFS.

Long way to go yet. Not many gave Crewe a chance at 2-0 down.

Chessie remind me of us before we brought Rob Street in. Overcooking the passing, and relying on the flanks all the time.

How the f*ck did they get 8 goals against us?

Mandeville also at fault for the 2nd, far too easy to get past for the cross.

They’ve somehow used 40 players across their league games this season. We’ve used 27. Not sure who they’ve managed to do that.

If Walsall don’t get promoted I’d be making a enquiry around Taylor Allen

0-2 FT.

It looks like the team that slaughtered us twice will be in League 2 again next season.

Funny old game.

A Wimbledon/Walsall play off final is not one to get the mouth watering! Wembley will have to pay people to go and watch!

There were moments of good play but overall lacklustre performances from both teams. Ponderous passing and too many mistakes.

Like DBR has said above, Rovers v Crewe last season......? It's only half time.... still all to play for

It’s never over in the playoffs. They could easily turn that around with an early goal. That being said, wouldn’t be disappointed with chesterfield staying down - I think they came into the league with a real arrogance this season that was partly peddled by the media. Reality check hopefully.

On another note - it’s glorious watching the drama of the playoffs play out with knowing we can just enjoy the games and our title for the rest of the summer. Great feeling!

Can’t write chesterfield off, but they must play a lot better in the second leg.
I can’t understand why Fleck did not get a yellow or even a red after about 10 mins, was a definite yellow in real time, but viewing the reply it could have been.

5 mins later he gave a yellow but the challenge was no where near as bad as flecks challenge.

Only saw bits of this game but I don't get the fuss about Chesterfield.  They seem a good side when they're good but not so good when they're not.  An absolute travesty they beat us twice as they just weren't that good.  We conceded 5 in the away game but should have scored about 7.  As they can be so open they've every chance of scoring a few but Walsall are a tough side to break down and very effective even despite recent form (they were decent against us).

You'd still think Wimbledon v Walsall in the final and what a boring, defensive final that might be.

Watched it, thought chessie were horrific and like Steve said, I’ve no idea how they beat us twice. Tie not over though as we would know.

Chessie have worked out a way to win the match easily. Their manager has convinced them they are playing us again.  :chair:

Manager just pulled a stunt he sent all the team out one minute early to get players to go up to their fans - Ref made em go back down the tunnel and both teams to come out together

Money wise it now makes no difference who wins any of the play off games everything is hedged to the penny

at least 0-0 is keeping us interested I am trying to dee that motorway behind the goal - but I think the cameras are higher up today -- can't believe how much I have seen Walsall THIS YEAR  opposing them every match EXCEPT IN THE FIRST LEG

Lakin on after X-Chessie signed centre forward  in January from Bromley misses a sitter by using his left foot when it was easier to use his right

That’s a bit unfair, they just haven’t had that final big of quality to score.
