How we conceded 8 goals to this Chesterfield team, I’ll never know. They’ve been so poor in front of goal in both games.

6 players over 30 started for Chesterfield. One for Walsall.

Pleased for Walsall, they’ve been the second best team in L2 over the course of the season.

Late pitch invasion by Walsall fans.
Chessie players leave the pitch and so far won’t come out again.

Hopefully EFL will hand out another huge fine for the pitch invasion during the game just like with us

Don't think so

I hope you know I started backing them at 14/1 to make the play offs after the kiddie went back to Bet365

they were 50/1 then to win at Wembley

They don't arf talk some $hite post match -

for the record the two Walsall goals were scoredwith a combined distance of less than 2 feet from the goal line --

If you think teams always finish in positions that correlate to their performances over a 46 game sample, think again! Too much luck and variance involved in football for that to happen.

You may want to check what you wrote, Gaz!

League 1 or 2?

That ‘luck & variance’ pocketed me over £1100 this season.

If you know your football luck doesn’t come into it.

Out of interest then, how many times did your bets not come in and how much did you lose when they didn’t.

Depends on whether you mean performances in terms of quality, or effectiveness, or results.

46 games is more than enough for the cream to rise to the top.  Brazil were by far and away the most entertaining team playing the best football to watch in the 1982 World Cup, but they went out in a 2 match 3 team mini league.  As did England, but we were nowhere near the same to watch.

BigKeif replay the goals back, they ran straight at our left flank, exposed their control of the ball when under pressure and lack of pace to recover, a lot of teams tried to do it they were great at it in both games.
We improved the problem the  last ten games when we got promotion.   If we had carried on conceding like we were we might have struggled for the playoffs.

Guy I used to work with has spent his life gambling
A very well paid bloke. Wins big sometimes too. But he lived with his Mum into his mid 30's, sold his bloody valuable sharesave options before they matured and, to this day, has absolutely nowt behind him.

Gambling? It's a licence to print money for the bookies and their ilk. Why else do we see so many new gambling companies starting up and the airwaves and billboards being absolutely dominated by these sharks?

Our local bookie is a friendly, salt-of-the-earth type of guy.

He lets his customers park their pushbikes next to his Rolls-Royce around the back anytime.

I agree Selby, it’s just more shocking how poor they are attacking wise, that it shows just how bad we were at defending in them games. I’d also rather not watch them 2 games back either haha painful enough at the time.

This from someone who last season said about Luke Molyneaux “I could find better cheaper”, & that Lg2 was his level

Still waiting for the names of all those better & cheaper footballers.

You might fool some of the people some of the time, but I had your number early doors.

On Danny Baker’s radio show the subject of gambling came up.
He has a friend who runs a bookies.
His friend said that there are four windows that take your money and one that pays out.
Says it all really.

I gamble mainly on football but sometimes on the horses, I don’t go mad and will perhaps stake £25 a week. I lose more than I win, but I physically go to a shop to bet and don’t have an on line account.

I have a bet365 online account as many companies close your account after one decent win, no matter how much you lose with them. I usually bet on horses and do ok, celebrate the wins, forget the losses - it’s a hobby not a career!

I don’t really bet on football but always back Donny to be champions to win a few hundred quid and promotion to pay for a couple of season tickets (£400/500). This year was an exceptionally good return. As all us Donny fans know, it most certainly doesn’t happen every year!  :rtid:

Without itemising every bet I made over the course of the last 12 months hound, would this suffice?

Football & horses but I would say 95% football.

I’ve got a bet riding on Newcastle finishing in the top 4, had them, Burnley and us to be promoted, £5 pays £335. So hopefully they batter Everton Sunday
