There is also the Arsenal Stadium Mystery, also found on talking pictures.stars Leslie Banks and a few of the Arsenal players at the time

And a quick google search brought up these

The Damned United (2009)
Bend It Like Beckham (2002)
United (2011)
Fever Pitch (1997)
Shaolin Soccer (2001)
Mean Machine (2001)
Looking For Eric (2009)
Escape to Victory (1981)

And not forgetting, although I did

There’s only one Jimmy Grimble

Any other oldies who also remember this which ran from 1965-67? I certainly don't remember that it went to 147 episodes

I can't remember it, but a glance at the page lists  the characters whose names are Rovers related.

Mark Wilson and Chris Brown and someone called Gregg Harris which sounds very similar to our outstanding keeper in the 50's.

Always had a soft spot for Cherie Lunghi after her wonderful performance in the BBC production of 'Testament of Youth' - a book which should be required reading for every person on this planet. As a quick brain teaser who knows who the author Vera Brittain's daughter was? No cheating!!

As for ID, I still have my old VHF copy of that. Quite a realistic, scary portrait of togger back then....

Not a footy film, but some interesting scenes inside Old trafford early 1970s at the end of "The Lovers"

Next Goal Wins is a recentish film about America Samoa’s terrible team which is a lighthearted easy watch.

For football programmes you can’t beat Rovers with Craig Cash. Early Doors meets non-league football!

The P.E/Football Lesson Scene from 'Kes' is a fine short film on it's own - worthy of sweeping the Oscars.
