How many of us are now sighing at the lack of positive news from the clubs progress in replacing the players that got us promotion . McCann must be running around like the preverbal energy bunny by now looking for A keeper Two centre backs and A striker . Phew he’s gonna need a holiday before he even starts the season .  :headbang:

I don’t think that’s Grants way of doing business at all. He’ll have had discussions, maybe even verbal agreements or dealing with agents and putting in contingency plans. All very calm, all very controlled and out of the public eye until the business is done and signed. I for one am not worried, in GM we trust.

Maybe it is all being kept quiet so as not to alert any other possible suitors????

I expect we will be hearing of a signing or two in the next couple of days. If not, I'm not worried......just makes it a bit boring at the minute, roll on first game!

Grant must have changed Lincs, he had a real distaste of picking the phone up from January to May to calls from from some agents.

Probably a combination of dealing with bereavement and trying to prioritise on the pitch matters.

I am in agreement that things are well in hand ,, but I can’t think of many out of seasons where even a decent preseason fixture to wet the appetite hasn’t already been announce is unusual .  Players are completely different circumstance and do take time but not to even get a rumour from a media source is unusual . IMO only

We could have agreed a signing but not allowed to give details yet.
Or saving them for others to join and go for a signing a day.

... or the transfer window is closed for a week, and is open again on the 16th, so I'm guessing that there can't be anything official until then.

I thought the same, mate, but we're both wrong.

You can sign players to a contract at any time, you can't register them with the FA/EFL outside of a window (Transfer window is really a misnomer, its a registration window) Free agents can be signed at any time providing they were a free agent prior to the closing of the previous window

Can we now stop sighing at the lack of signings.
