I’ve got every faith in McCann and his staffs judgement. The reality is we are never going to be buying a prolific striker from this level, so we have to look towards players who will suit a system of play and optimise their strengths.

Best of luck to you Brandon, welcome to the club, I’ve got every faith in you.

The way Grant talks about helping him become prolific gives me a lot of faith. He know what he’s got and in fairness has a really good record of turning good line leaders into goal scorers.

I actually remember seeing him play against us for Bristol Rovers when both their forwards ran us ragged and this forum was awash with talk of Harrison (can’t remember his 1st name)and their other forward.

If you look at the clubs he’s played for they are hardly the types to create lots of chances or have a lot of the ball. He’s played a lot of games for a very effective Wycombe team so must pull his weight. In a team with more attacking intent hopefully he thrives

Ellis Harrison. Was a really good well-rounded striker but has dropped off a bit now. Just been released by MK Dons.

Westbrooke played with Hanlan at Bristol Rovers and they appear to be pals looking at Instagram.

Well good luck to the lad but I'll need some convincing on this one.

How many poor strikers has McCann signed?

I keep saying I'm not sure on this one yet he gets them scoring.....

If they give their all I am happy with that, a team can go a long way if they all pull together.
Both new players interviewed well and came over as good personalities which is a great start.
Even when things didn't look that rosy last season _I don't think anyone criticized the effort put in by everyone in any game.
Yes we had form dips, every team and every player has those games, but we gave 100% effort every game as far as I remember and I give the players credit for that, and the management for demanding it, and I expect every new player coming to the club to pick up the baton.

For me, next season is all about getting the points to stop up, and the sooner the better.

It's going to be a roller coaster of a season.

McCann is good at picking players out, that he can do something with. His career figures don’t look good, but neither did other players before they joined us.
I think with a bit of luck with injuries he could do well for us.

We're hardly going to be signing people's top scorers. It's going to be players where they can already do this, this and this and then McCann saying I'll be able to get him doing the this this and this they've not achieved so far in their careers.

Is he an Ironside / Sharp competitor through the middle? Had in my mind he was a wider player. Hence his goal return.

According to Transfermarkt about 85% of his career appearances have been through the middle.

The key sentence is "Dave tells me that he is good to go", if our head of medical is confident then so am I!

This holds so much more importance than it has previously. No offence to any one previously involved, but when you have people involved who have been part of a team that has won them prem, then you have a decent basis to rely upon.

I am sure we will sign another striker, probably on loan. Be surprised if Ironside doesn't leave.

If Ironside can rediscover his 23/24 form he’s above Sharp in the pecking order.
Would like him to prove some people wrong.

Hanlan doesn’t sound like a no.9 to win headers, hold it up and look after the ball so we need someone like that.

He is an interesting signing - sounds direct and a threat.  Hope he gets used to being up north and settles in the area - anyone know if is he married or have a partner?
