Good signing are there more to follow?
It was Matty who hit the long range shot at Accrington that Ross Etheridge let in, resulting in Ross getting dog's abuse from some Rovers supporters.
Listen to Grant’s interview:1 very close1 a bit more of a wait
Seems a decent signing on the face of it. Experienced but not ancient, lots of games at a high level, good physical attributes and can play a bit. Hopefully we'll soon have a younger, pacier signing with a higher upside to fit alongside him.
Yes the only slight concern is his lack of pace, unfortunately will be difficult to find someone in lower leagues with same pace as Joe. This was why Joe always seemed to do well when we played against the premier leagues sides. Thus important if we are bringing in another centre back, it should be someone with pace.
That's the Anderson replacement done, sounds a shrewd signing.

The wiley old foxes can make it difficult for players to get past them by getting a shove on them etc. Sure, if we get a quick one, it's a bonus providing the rest of his game is there, which wasn't always the case in Joseph's earlier time with us.
Looking at the Huddersfield Unofficial Forum it would appear Matthew is a no nonsense centre back in other words, he’ll tackle, block & head the ball away all day long akin to Woody however it seems he’s not ‘comfortable’ bringing the ball out of defence, his distribution “is poor” & he lacks pace.So it appears we’re getting ‘a straight swap’ for Wood albeit a younger version. If he can add the goals at set pieces that Woody was unable to then we know what we’re getting. A blood & guts centre back who will ‘lay it all on the line’.He’s thirty one but as Grant said in his interview, “We’re looking to add things to his game & develop him much as we did with Woody who took a couple of games to understand the way we want to play” I took that to mean being more positive on the ball, getting your head up & making the ‘right pass’.He’ll certainly add the experience we ‘lost’ with the departure of Wood & Anderson.
