Fixtures
« on June 26, 2025, 11:08:52 am by Draytonian III »
We all know they are out in hour, but how many are going to get changed due to , international call ups, fa cup matches, weather or the ever popular Sky wanting a 12.30 Saturday match, I guess 12 of them from what originally published

They’re already changing the fixture dates and times, fortunately not our first

Yes I was going to put if he’s still in a job by then, but I’m feeling charitable today!

Not a blockbuster opening game but one you'd think we'd fancy our chances. Away to Mansfield next on the Tuesday is a decent chance to measure where we're at.

The run of games from game 3 that takes my eye as being tough are the next 6.

Wycombe, Huddersfield, Port Vale, Rotherham, Bradford, Wigan.

In terms of run ins, I think the fixtures have been relatively kind with quite a few of what I expect to be the tougher games, out of the way by Easter.

The first 8 to 10 games will tell us how tough this league is going to be but the good news is, we'll have plenty of time to refine things.

Bit annoying that both of the Huddersfield games are scheduled for Tuesday nights.

Yes, I was thinking the same, although not that far to both sets of fans to still turn up in good numbers.

Reading Ricky Charlesworth's x account, we will know by July 3rd about the first batch of fixtures that we will be re-scheduled for tv, July 31st for the 2nd batch of fixtures upto the end of the 3rd round of the FA cup in January and by November 7th for fixtures into February. At least we have more advanced warnings of fixture changes this time

A reasonable start with winnable home games in summer/autumn. And a decent run in at the end of the season.

The 7 games through December and early January look horrendous - Stockport twice, Plymouth, Cardiff, Blackpool, Bolton and Luton - difficult to hand pick a tougher run of fixtures at this stage.

Playing Stockport twice in 20 days in December is weird.

Tell me about it. My former boss is a big Huddersfield fan and we used to make a day/night of it for each game. Waited ages to be back in same league and they schedule them both for a Tuesday night. Gutted….

International weekends might see Leyton Orient (a) and Lincoln (a) both postponed and moved if enough get called up. Not sure when the breaks are next year yet?

Same for me! A close friend of mine is a Huddersfield fan and we had a couple of right days out planned. Shame.

away on Monday 29/12 looks like a good 'un - until you spot that it's a 19:45 kick off; we're up in North Yorkshire (Helmsley) between xmas and new year, so that's going to be a right arse to get back from....

So glad first fixture is at home regardless of the opposition, especially as our ‘family holiday’ in Malaga starts the Saturday softer for two weeks.

Sunny, warm day. Grass greener than green could be. New players warming to the crowd (if not the atmosphere!’) meeting old mates.

Those red & white hoops walking out to our ‘maiden voyage’ in Grant’s second ‘term of office’ as our manager in Lg2.

What a start.

However, my daughter gets married on the Saturday we play Brad City at home.

For every upside there’s a ‘down’.

The ‘Life of a Rovers Supporter’ book coming to the shelves soon!!

If I get film rights, I’ll offer David Beckham his first film role playing Copps.

Any other ideas for actors playing the roles of Rovers ‘figures’ past or present?
