To me Glastonbury is as mainstream as Glyndebourne. That’s not to say they don’t get decent acts on. It’s a long time since Scallies invaded the site and robbed the tents that’s for sure.

I’ve had some bad experiences at outdoor music festivals. A couple were like the Somme. These days we don’t often get cold in the summer. Modern weather.

What I’m saying is, I prefer an indoor venue and a taxi home.

Just watched Biffy Clyro, great band.  Good to see Wunderhorse on too they're going to be big.  Wet leg definitely good too.

Will probably watch a bit of self esteem tonight. Not the 1975 though they can get in the bin!

I'd have enjoyed Lorde too, I do like her.

My one and only foray into musical festivals was the Reading Festival in 1987 where the name of the game was avoiding bottles of urine and avoiding the battles between various gangs. I did get to see Status Quo and Alice Cooper though.

You could easily do Glastonbury.  You can have a week there and barely see a band it's an absolutely huge site and festival with so much to see for literally anyone.

I'm biased though, Glastonbury was a big part of me and my wife ending up together.

If it's an age thing don't let that bother you. My last visit was on my own in 2019 I was 67. I have tried and failed  to get tickets every time since then.
The "mud" years aren't clever though we ( my wifes only visit) were there in 2016 and it was a bit grim
As BFYP says you can spend a week there and not need to see an act on the main stages unless you wanted to

I see that very nice Michael Eavis has taken steps to make sure his daughter inherits the estate with minimum tax liabilities,  why not it's what the landed gentry have done for hundreds of years.

The best band so far for me have been the Osees on the Park Stage. Got to love a band with two drummers both up front with the rest of the band. Loads of energy and shit tatts.
The 1975 are just wishy washy shite, they make Coldplay look like Motorhead.

It's funny how letting a band play who've openly called for violence against MPs and support terrorism is "personal choice", or "if you don't like it just don't watch".
